I dont know how good this guy is, but there are a billion good small forwards in the league. Center, well there is only one good center in the league. So even by default that makes Yao Ming more valuable in the NBA.

I can see you are trying hard to make the topic related to the Rockets.

Along with Yao Ming, who was selected by the Houston Rockets with the first overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, Chen was named by Asian Basketball Confederation in 1998 as the most promising Asian junior players.
Pretty leaping ability ,quick first step.Still raw. Jump shot and handle need refinement.Needs to get much stronger, improve defensively, gain consistency.

Then why bother? A SF who doesn't even have good handles or shooting, better be freakishly athletic or he won't cut it. There are way too many SFs

Oh, come on, he is just in the trainning camp, havent made to the
roseter yet. Why make news conference of that? There are more than
handful players from China had been in NBA team's trainning camp,
what's the big deal this Chen guy. I seriously doubt he will make it.

Even though I think Yao will be better, but in an exhibition game between Chinese Taipei and the Shanghai Sharks, Yao got dunked on by Chen twice...

If he is this good, why didn't he enter the draft?

If he is this good, why didn't he enter the draft? There are plenty of raw players getting picked in 1st round.
