have you even seen their bench? steve blake, shannon brown, matt barnes, lamar odom, and devin ebanks is a very good bench if you ask me.

Steve Blake's butt still hurts from what Brooks did to him in the '09 play-offs.

Here're the subplots I'm looking out for:

    1) Yao's return: How many minutes will he play? How effectively will he be on defense? How will his passing be with all of these new weapons out there?

    2) Kmart: Has Kmart recovered from his injuries? Will his much-hyped extra work in the summer actually play out now that the season is here? How well will he play off of Yao and Miller?

    3) Battier/Kobe: With all the pre-game work put in by Kobe and Battier looking at film to see how to beat each other, I'm looking forward to seeing how this individual chess match plays out. How will having a shot-blocking presence change how Kobe attacks Battier? Will Battier be able to play more aggressively with Yao at his back?

I hate referring to Kevin Martin as Kmart it always reminds me of that @sshole over in Denver. Can't we come up with a more original and unique nickname?

Fakers without Bynum. I say we win by 5.

    The Rockets vs Lakers

    Charles and Kenny

This is going to be great! Much better than any Detroit pistons game.

What is a point related to any Detroit pistons game? It is a rocekts's game, of course it is much better. I predict that AB will have a great game as Fisher and his backup are slow and old. Scola has to play a good defense to give us a better chance to win the game.

i know that always happens, should run late though because of the ring ceremony so we shouldnt miss any of the game. I like playing on national tv but imma be honest bill worrel is my boi lol

i predict a very close game even though kobe has had surgery and is not fully recovered they still have a dangerous team. I think in the end a Brooks/Martin,or (possible lowry)"D"ish Smith/Lee backourt is too much for Fisher/Kobe or blake/brown to handle.

i think we will win and shock the world :p but CF and Jeff Van Grumpy wont be surprised

Wow, we matchup really well with the Lakers as usual.

This is going to be tough out for them, besides we know the only way they can beat the Rockets in a 7 game series is because of injuries and officiating.

For them on the front line, people are making out the Bynum/Gasol/Odom as unbeatable front line with an older Theo Ratliff.

On our side, we have a rejuvenated Yao Ming/Luis Scola/newly acquire Brad Miller with returning Jared Jeffries, Chuck Hayes, and Jordan Hill.

Without injuries, I do not see how the Lakers have a better overall front line than we do.

    Next the backcourt includes Kobe/Artest/Fisher/Barnes/Brown/Blake/Vujacic/Walton/Ebanks.

    Rockets feature Battier/Martin/Brooks/Lowry (out tomorrow)/Budinger/Ish/Lee

The only reason the Lakers' back court is so scary, is because of Kobe and Artest on defense (who has decline alot). We've got superior wing players across the board off the bench. We've got alot of bench players who can start on other teams more so than Lakers.

They may win tomorrow, though. Because, we still have alot of adjustments to make. But we might can sneak away with the title this year.

    Lakers 101, Rockets 98

I actually agree with you, but for lack of a better nickname, I've defaulted into using it. It reminds me of a discount retail chain that got picked up on the cheap after going into bankruptcy for a failed high volume low efficiency business model. Not exactly an accurate metaphor for our Kmart.
