Well of course. Who doesn't want to live in a reality where demons possess us and cause us to murder our loved ones?

I'll give any movie a chance but the first one didn't do anything for me. I don't why. I got more freaked out by the documentary of the real exorcist, in which the movie was based on. Saw it last night on Discovery.
    Damn ouija boards..always trouble!

The movie is actually receiving pretty good reviews by both critics and fans.

I thought the first one was entertaining. It wasn't absolutely terrifying but at least it got away from the Saw garbage that won't go away. Those movies are absolute crap. Gory does not equal scary.

Saw this last night. I loved the way this tied into the first one. It isn't the greatest movie ever, but it did have me on edge throughout the movie. One of the better scares I've had in the theater. I always knew "something" was about to happen, but it still shocked me when it did. If you liked the first one at all, go see this one.

about 173 times better than the first one. of course, that's like saying that bee sting on my dick was better than the fire ant bites on my sack.

It was a very solid follow up, it's a prequel, to the first one and stuck with what worked. If you hated the first you'll hate this one and vice versa.

I couldn't get behind it, but I also didn't like the first one. The sudden loud noises just feel like cheap scares to me. I think these movies just don't do it for me because you can always tell when somethings about to happen.

I walked out of that theatre having no idea what most of the characters names were and not even realizing a few of them were in the first one. Maybe I should have paid attention better, but it just didn't do it for me.

If you disliked the first one what was the point of going to the sequel?

Hmm, interesting. I didn't find the first one scary whatsoever, but it was entertaining. Still, I don't recall any sudden loud noises; in fact, that's why I enjoyed it was specifically because they didn't go for the cheap scares like that. I imagine it's the same with the second one. The first one just tried to give off this building aura of creepiness, really.

But yeah, not really scary at all to me so I don't have much interest in seeing the second one... unless the lady wants to, I guess. I wouldn't object.

I totally agree with this. While the film taken on it's own is only okay, I will admit they did a great job of recycling the first film's premise without it seeming recycled. I don't even know if I'd call it a "prequal", since there's some timeline crossover between the first and second movies. Overall, though, the pacing and acting were both quite a bit better in this film than the first.

The kitchen cabinet scene was the absolute best. And the audience reaction was priceless.

My wife is still freaked out over that one, it's very well set up. I happen to like the false ending where the dad tried to transfer the demon, the handheld POV shots reminded me of REC
