Because the forum title includes "high school..." We are in the thick of the season in the high school level, and the final 3 weeks will go a long way in determining playoff positioning. I'm a 5A guy, so I don't know too much about the 4A, 3A, etc. schools, so any input about schools from those levels will be greatly appreciated. To me, there's nothing like a Friday night football game in the state of Texas. Of course, the Rockets always take precedent.
What happened to Friday night lights? i was coming on regularly on the family channel. I was enjoying catching up on the show than they pull the plug for gilmore girls?
Cool. My cousin goes there. Most of my family lives in Sugar Land/MoCity. Four other cousins graduated from Kempner. As for me, I'm part of the Cy-Woods class of 2010. And they are just taking it to Cy-Creek tonight! They are blowing out the defending district champions tonight.
Down south, the big one in 24-5A is Clear Creek versus Clear Springs next Friday. The Fight for 518 is on!
21-14 win tonight guarantees Elkins a playoff spot. They even beat Hightower this year (for the first time ever, I think).
I love watching the high school games here, but I haven't got to go to any this season because of work.
Cy-Woods defeated Cy-Creek tonight by the score of 61-35. Woods was led by QB Colton Huntsman in his 2nd full game returning from an injury. He went 7-11 with 282 yards passing and 2 TDs. He also ran 17 times for 104 yards and added another 2 TDs. RB Fred Anderson had 171 total yards (35 passing, 42 rushing, and 94 receiving) and 4 TDs (1 pass, 2 run, 1 receiving). It was 35-7 Woods at halftime. Both teams are now 5-3 overall, 5-2 in district play. Cy-Creek has Langham Creek, coming off a 21-17 loss to Cy-Fair, next, while Cy-Woods plays Cy-Ridge, who demolished a winless Cy-Lakes team 49-7.
Katy pretty much owns the Houston area in terms of hs football... Surprised Elkins beat Hightower... usually Hightower so much bigger than everyone in FBISD. Sad to see Dulles has sucked for so many years though they did have Stonum who went to Michigan and now is probably their biggest WR threat.
Looks like it'll come down to the Cinco Ranch-Katy matchup to decide who wins the District 19-5A championship. They are light years ahead of everyone else in that district....
My alma mater is Ross Sterling and they are umm.. 2-6?.. They haven't had a playoff quality team in probably 20 years.. They are in 21-5A along with Humble and Beaumont Schools.. Also if you want to see a truly wonderful Friday Night Lights expierence goto Dayton. They are a 4A team that is truly dominant. They have gonna deep in the state playoffs the past 7 or so years..

Actually, an Elkins' victory...no matter the score...gives them the Zone championship and a birth in the District Championship game. If Elkins loses by less than 7 points.....same above applies.
Hightower's defense IS SMALL. Elkins dominated them this year. Elkins Left Guard is 6'5'' 315lb....and all they did was run behind him against Hightower. They also threw to 6'4'' WR against the Hightower's DBs. They had 264 yards passing, with 3 TD in the air and 246 yards rushing, with 3 TDs on the ground. Scored on their first 6 possessions (would been 7 if it wasn't for a fumble at the goaline.).
