Stoudemire just downgraded from Nash to Felton...I'm quite certain Stoudemire will miss Nash more. Nash will still be able to run the offense fine. He'll make Hakim Warrick look good.

Stoudemire will still get his 20/10.

    Nash will miss Amare more.

Forthe 80mil the suns spend on getting childress, Hedo, etc. they could have just paid amare.

lol I agree, they basically traded their way from a finals caliber team to having a good chance of missing the playoffs in one offseason

Amare isn't going to miss Nash because he went to a team that suits his skill set. He'll likely average more points to be honest. While felton is no Nash, he's certainly capable and the Knicks are going to put a lot of points on the board with Amare as their focal point.

Nash will miss Amare in crunch time because there's not another big guy on the roster to keep the defense honest for him to hit those step back 3's. That said, Nash is still great and will continue to be no matter who you put on the Suns

I completely agree. I think Sarver got stubborn and it's going to cost Phoenix.

I wouldn't go that far. Until Amare developed his mid range game he needed Nash. Once he did that though he no longer needed Nash

he averaged 20ppg as a rookie with stephon marbury. he's a pure scorer. he doesn't need nash at all to get 20 points.

with d'antoni's offense, any star level player can elevate their level of production easy. amare will get his 25-27ppg this year.

I already said I think his production will go up in NY. I know what he did with Marbury but I think Nash helped him take his game to a different level. When you play with a player as intelligent as Nash it really helps. Amare would have been good with or without nash (same as nash with or without Amare) but they helped each others game progress.

amare's injury made him a better player. the first year with nash, he played the same way in terms of how he scores as with marbury. he didn't have a midrange J like you said.

however, his knee surgery made him aware of his athleticism and thus he developed a jumpshot. he worked mostly on his jumpshot after his surgery b/c he didn't have the athleticism and lift from his knee. he talked about this extensively a few years ago. all he did was shoot jumpers.

nash did NOT take his game to the next level.

I agree with everything except your last sentence. I think his knee injury and him starting to mature made him improve his game to what it is now.

Guys like jason Kidd and Steve Nash always help you take your game to the next level. Even if it's only on the basketball IQ side you are taking something away from playing with those guys

And Nash's defense is even worse. Not to mention he's always been a terrible defender. What's your point?

Amare will be in the playoffs while Nash will have early vacation.

Amare will still put up his numbers in New York. Plus he's got a decent point in Felton. If he didn't have Felton it might be a different story.

I'm not so sure Phoenix/Nash can replace Amare's production (and the attention he draws) with Childress and Turkogloooo though.

That said there is the year Stoudemire was out and Nash still took his teams deep into the playoffs.

its easily nash IMO.... amare dropped like 39 in a preseason game. nash did not make amare he will be fine without him.

the suns are desperately going to miss amare this year. hedo has been declining every year for like the past 4 years and he has looked terrible in the preseason. i wont be surprised at all if the suns dont make the postseason.

Nash as well as the whole team are going to miss Amare on the offensive boards more than his scoring. This is going to effect Nash's numbers negatively.

Nas is also getting really old.

I wanted the Suns to keep all of their players, but they simply can't afford it.

    Nash
    Johnson
    Richardson
    Marion
    Amare

Bench: Dragic, Barbosa, Frye, Hill, and Lopez.

Anyways, I think both Nash and Amare will be fine. Nash is won't be effective in a couple of years. The Suns front office realizes they aren't going to win a championship and at this point. Cutting costs and milking Nash is probably the for the best.
