Neither of them benefit from each other as much as they do the system.

Both will have good numbers this year.

Shawn Marion was an all star before he ever played with Nash. For his size, he's always been a beast on the boards and an athletic freak.

Barbosa, Diaw, Bell, James Jones, Eddie House, Kurt Thomas, these guys are still around.

What's Kwame Brown, Smush Parker doing right now? And Luke Walton if he didn't get that contract?

And I remember Amare had an eye surgery for half a season and Nash was left with Shaq. Did they make playoff?

The Suns just gave up 144 points to the Nuggets in a blow-out loss. Shelden friggin Williams beasted them for 27 points.

I think it's Nash... he doesn't have a premier player to drop the ball in to now and I don't see anyone on their squad that can run the floor the way Amare did on fast breaks... needless to say Nash and Amare made a perfect fit

I don't know why the people on the BBS underrate Amare so much. If you watched his last games the guy is just unstoppable in the paint. I saw him at Montreal yesterday and there's nothing that the Raptors could do on defense when Amare was on the court.

I think Nash is going definitly to miss Stoudemire as Amare is putting up 40 points game without Nash. LOL at everybody who thought that STAT was nothing without Nash.

It wasn't just Nash that got Amar'e those easy buckets, it was the system he played in too. So far he's averaged 26 points per game in the same system without Nash. Also the Suns would be lucky to even make the playoffs while the Knicks probably will.

If I would have told you before Nash came to Phoenix that Amare was going to be a top interior scorer, All NBA type player...you would have probably agreed.

If I told you Nash was going to be a 2 time MVP and be considered an all time great PG...you would have called me nuts.

The Nuggets starters didn't even play a single minute of playing time either whereas the Suns' played half the game. This could probably be Nash's roughest season yet and I wouldn't be surprised if he is dealt at the trade deadline.

    Moreygetherdone!

It's not so much about Amare leaving, it's that they didn't even get a real PF, let alone a good one, to replace him. Back in 05/06 when Amare went down, they still had a prime Shawn Marion, and Boris Diaw really suprised people. Not sure you can expect Hedo and Childress fill that PF/C role. Diaw is a significantly thicker guy than either of them.

Didn't Nash already win an MVP without Amare, while leading his team to 60 wins?

Raptors get abused by any above average PF/C, when they have Bargs, David Andersen, Joey Dorsey, Reggie Evans, and Solomon Alabi manning the middle.

It doesn't mean that Amare is going to be putting up 40 against other teams.

If the conversation is about who needs who, then neither of them need each other.

To put up his usual numbers, Nash needs to play on a fast team that spaces the floor with accurate shooting wings and versatile bigs that don't need to post up. For Amare to put up his usual numbers he needs a team that spaces the floor with accurate shooters and a competent playmaker.

I will admit Nash is 1 of only 3 current PG's who could make that silly system work and the team does tend to mirror his strengths and weaknesses.

I think Nash is a really good player. If he would have gone to a team with solid defensive principles and a good post up big man after leaving the mavericks, his numbers would have remained merely all star level but he would probably have a ring by now.

The 40 points game was a little before, yesterday he did 24 points in 25 minutes.

David Andersen was really impressive out there, knocking down 20ft jumpers and showing some great moves down low.
