That is why I think the whole kevin martin super efficient theory goes whack. Corey is pretty darn efficient too, but he is kind of blackhole and I think KM is kind of like him. That is why the Sacramento wanted to ship him out. KM is good, but definitely a second tier guard.

Martin is not a black hole. When he has the ball, he makes quick decisions-- either making an immediate move, taking a shot, or passing the ball off. The boxscores don't track it, but if you measure the amount of time each of them spend each game holding onto or dribbling the ball, Maggette will come out significantly higher. Given that teams tend to shoot much worse at the end of a shot clock cycle, there is value to a guy who doesn't eat up the shot clock.

Martin is also the much better 3 pt shooter in terms of both accuracy and number of attemps/makes.

As a result of Martin's lack of tendency to hold on to the ball and dribble, he also turns the ball less at a significantly lower margin than Maggette does (10.6% career turnover rate vs. 14.1 % for Maggette). And Martin's been on a incredible efficiency streak this offseason (may be a fluke, but his trainer, David Thorpe talked about him working hard on, for exmaple, 3 pt shooting, and the percentage has shown): near 70 TS%, 16.4 points with 1.0 turnover in less than 22 minutes a game. I doubt it lasts, but there are signs that next year could be the best year in his career.

They both get to the FT line a lot but they are completely different players.

CH, Maggette is more off the dribble, mid range attack guy. Martin doesnt pass either, but he doesnt hold it as long. Martin also leaks out alot and get those transition 3's, but in a tighter played game, maggette's off the dribble ability is more useful.
