HOU: Gallo DEN: Hill + Randolph + Chandler + Douglas + Turiaf + Curry + NY 2012 pick NY: Melo + JR + Birdman + Taylor Brooks, Lowry, Smith Martin, Lee Battier, Budinger, Jeffries Scola, Gallo, 2Pat Miller, Yao, Hayes
Gallo is a SF. You want him out there to be shooting those 3's- that is where all of his value sits. Way too much to give up to play a guy out of position.
What about this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2f74fxe or http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=32tgne2
I'd do the trade with Hill, if nothing for the irony that we are turning a 2nd round ad a player from NY, to take away yet another from NY. Problem is that Denver will want Randolph, and give Douglas to us. In which case, no Hill. I doubt they see Hill+Douglas > Randolph. And surely Denver wants a pick in this, which I would not want to give.
I'm not very savvy about the business aspects of the NBA-- contracts, the CBO, lux tax, etc.--but I do like basketball, a lot, so I'd appreciate some more educated guesses re: what would it cost us to get Anthony Randolph on our roster?
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=29b4c7c Knicks get: Melo Jeffries Taylor Rockets get: JR Smith A. Randolph Nuggets get: Anderson Varejao Danilo Gallinari Antawn Jamison Rockets send a pick their way. (Gives the fans the illusion that they are getting value back and that they can still compete without rebuilding) Cavs get: Eddie Curry Kelenna Azubuike (rebuild and unload those contracts it really doesn't need or want)
