Since we will have a little more access this year, I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated through the season to things we'd like to find out from Rockets players, coaches and/or staff. Maybe a question about a specific play in last night's game, or just something that wasn't covered at some point. It can be anything, as long as it's an intelligent/professional question.
What type of drills and techniques are the coaches using to teach Jordan Hill defense? Once the season starts how much time do the coaches want the players to spend watching film when preparing for an opponent?
I think it would be cool to ask Jordan Hill what exactly he's doing to improve his post game and how he feels it has developed in the previous few years. Also, ask him if he plans on working with CD or Hakeem anytime in the future to help better himself.
<br> Not to be offensive, but is there something wrong with you? Literally every post of yours has to do with Carmelo...
What role do you expect Patrick Patterson to play this year? How will the addition of Patrick and Miller, as well as the improvement of Hill affect Hayes?
In the preseason it seems like Kyle Lowry has knocked down some threes. Is that something he really worked hard on in the off season, and does the coaching staff feel comfortable with him taking a few a game?
Do they see Chase Budinger as the eventual successor to Shane and what do they see as his limitations?
Just how large a role does Shane have on the floor directing the defense? Also, Shane shows some serious offensive skills from time to time, but those times, excepting his corner threes, are so rare that it's always a surprise. Do Coach Adelman and the staff try to get Battier to score more often in the low block, or is his role in the offense just what they want from him?
To be a contender, we really have to improve our defense overall since I do not think there is no big problem for current team to score some points. When we have Brooks and Martin as our key starters, both are labeled as weak defenders, how can we become a awesome defensive team? One of them comes from the bench? A possible option for certain match?
Why is there still an (apparent) offer on the table for Eric Damier (after he has artfully dodged training camp w/anyone)?
When are the Rockets going to build a "win-now" team? When are the Rockets going to stop settling for playoff appearances and start making runs?
i've always beein interested in their training.. It's been just over a year since the rockets hired a new strength and conditioning director, who implemented some new stuff and had a different approach. At the time, it was said it would take time for the players to see the improvements, since the body must adapt. A year later, what differences are the players seeing and/or feeling? When Eto or his staff notice a weakness or imbalance, functional and/or muscular, do they try to correct it, even if it means messing with players' shooting form? What the most common physical issue seen in basketball players? For example, Lack of flexibility/strength in a certain area, unilateral issues, bad running form, poor core strength etc.
How involved is Rick Adelman in drafts and personnel moves? Does his opinion override that of front office staff at times? (I know we'd probably just get a generic "we work as a team" response, but I'd like to know how things work internally given all the discussion regarding "whose move it was" when it came to guys like AB and Brad Miller).
