For AJ, absolutely YES. You're never going to be starting both Moss and Crabtree. If you have the chance to start both Austin and Johnson (who have both now had their bye weeks -- AJ's is this week), you do it without hesitation. You can pick up a Jacoby Jones or Amendola or someone like that for bench depth if you need it.
Lots of WR options this week. Danario Alexander, Jason Avant, Mike Williams SEA to name a few. Don't see any RB pickups yet. Depending on the extent of Cooley's injury, Fred Davis might be worth a fly in PPR leaguees. Not sure who Gates' backup is, but he could be valuable.
I'd first try to shop Vick around, but depending on what else there is available on the waiver wire in term of QBs, I'd keep Favre until Flacco's bye.
I need to pick up a QB for next week: Favre(GB) Hasselbeck(ARI) Henne(PIT) Smith(CAR) Cassel(JAC) Kolb(TEN) Freeman(STL)
Will drop favre and keep both vick and flacco, will add a waiver wire QB on week 8 since both QB's have week 8 bye. Favre elbow tendonitis is really taking a toll this year. Will try to pick up Ivory from NO, and mike williams from SEA, and danario alexander STL.
It appears my fellow owners in my fantasy league are impervious to trade proposals, so while I would rather trade one, it appears I will have to release one of my RBs. Should I release Hillis or Lynch? It wouldn't be a debate as Hillis has been consistent throughout the season, but I don't see him starting over MJD, McCoy, or Forte. The only week I'll need another RB will be on McCoy and Forte's bye week which happens to also be Hillis's bye week...
I have been offered a combination of 2 of the following: Moreno, Britt, Ronnie Brown for Maurice Jones-Drew
Kolb or Cassel. I'm not convinced on Matt Cassel at all even though he's taking on JAC. Kolb has a tough matchup but Tennessee CAN be thrown on as long as there is a relatively competent quarterback under center. Of course, I wouldn't pick Kolb until Andy John Kerry Reid finally makes up his mind what he wants to do by around Friday, so take that with a grain of salt as you will. If Kolb is in fact starting, I like him over Cassel.
Who is a waste? MJD? BTW.....I have been offered 2 of the 4: K. Moreno, B. Jacobs, R. Brown or K. Britt for MJD. Does 2 of either of these players make sense?
Both defenses are near the bottom of the league in passing yards given up, but Jacksonville has given up 14 TDs to the Titans 6. I really wish Henne had a better matchup. He did great against the Jets, but the Steelers have been amazing this season. I think I'm leaning towards Cassel. Then again Favre torched GB in both meetings last season. Ugh.
True, but Cassel sucks. I think your view of him has been distorted by the Houston game ... and in that game even though he threw for 3 TDs, he still couldn't crack 200 yards passing. I've been following him since the start of the season, and Cassel is the #1 reason why the Chiefs aren't dominating the league right now. The other thing you should note is that even though JAC gives up a lot of TDs, their rush defense is not nearly as good as Houston's, and the Chiefs are the only team that has actually had success in the run game against Houston this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see most of the scoring happening on the ground between Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones. I'm still more comfortable starting Kolb.
MJD can turn it around. Brown is in a timeshare and Moreno is in an even worse situation (injured, pass happy offense, platoon work). It's a tough call, but unless Ronnie Brown suddenly comes to life, it's MJD all the way.
