During the Bush era something like this means you're in line with the terrorists. During the Obama era it means you're exercising your first amendment rights.

I think above all it's racist hate speech. Should it be protected under the first amendment? Sure. Like Mr. Ventura said, the amendment is there to protect speech that is unpopular.

No, during the Bush admin dissent was the highest form of patriotism. Now dissent is racist. Funny how that changed.

A yes or no question for you.

Do you believe the picture is not racist?

ITS JUST A CARTOON PEOPLE. A FREAKING CARTOON!!

    DONT GET SO WORKED UP.

    lol

Seriously though, I'm surprised there were death threats and generally think that they should have kept it up just to show the stupidity behind it. I'm actually shocked that they took it down.

If you were looking for some comedy and didn't know where to look, go to the 'comments' section of that article.

    Some of my favorites:

It was so entertaining for 15 minutes, but then I realized they're serious.

It's actually so unbelievable to me, that I'm beginning to think that non-Republicans have set up a warehouse somewhere maybe in India and have employed millions of people to act like this on the internet, radio and telephones.

I actually refuse to believe there are this many people who think this way.

Seriously, bigotry just ERUPTED onto the scene once Obama got elected. Has it ever been like this with any other American president?

As a first amendment right it should definitely stay up, as stoopid choice of things to do, it should come down.

The reason people should and do stay civil is that uncivilized acts are met with uncivilized responses.

Hmm. Not sure where you were living from 2000-2008. I live in the most liberal county in America, but was still told dissent was aiding our enemies. My local congressperson lined up behind the President and supported a war while the streets of her county were full of people telling her not to do so. Can you imagine a member of the GOP supporting even a mild suggestion from the current president? Apple pie even? Of course not. That's how things have changed.

"Occam's razor" is the relevant concept for you on the racist angle, and that concept hasn't changed since the dark ages. (William of Ockham was a devout Christian, for what it's worth. His middle name wasn't Hussein or anything, so you might want to read about him!)

That's a funny way to remember things. Disagreeing with the President was called treason by many conservatives right up until the President became a Democrat.

is that why they went around arresting people for wearing anti-bush t-shirts at public events?

we were also told that we werent supposed to criticize the president b/c we are at war and it would embolden our enemies?

are we not still at war?

but these very same people are generally the biggest and loudest critics of president obama.

I'm not asked. But I think it's as racist and stupid as the Danish Cartoon. Then again, that guy got some awards in Germany...

    uhhhh....

"you're either with us or you're with the terrorists"

    dissent is not racist.

depicting the president as a flamboyant gay, muslim extremist, a Mexican Mariachi, and a Prohibition Era gangster (all in one neat little Tea Party picture) is flat out BIGOTRY

I like your reasoning... as the english proverb states, "It's better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt."

The louder they shout, the more doubt they remove.

I have to say that is an unusually good photochop from the conservative side of the graphics aisle. And it also gets to some valid criticism of the trite but important political variety: ultimately, this POTUS comes across as professorial and aloof, despite rhetoric (and even policies) that would suggest the opposite.
