From Sports radio 610 Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans tore the Achilles tendon in his left foot in the Texans' 35-31 win Sunday. Ryans will have surgery is out for the season.
The worst defense in the National Football League just lost its best linebacker. Yea, things can't possibly get worse...
Yeah, I wanted to say something earlier about Tasker going off on the "bad" call when A. Smith was in the neutral zone, causing KC to move. Only if you watch closely, you'll see the left guard flinch, which is why A Smith moved.
Ryans > Cushing for multiple reasons, imo. He didn't cheat and he didn't lie. And, most importantly, he's done it for longer. Cushing has to re-prove himself over time to be considered greater than Ryans in my mind. Regardless, the worst NFL defense lost 1 of its 2 best linebackers even if you see it that way.
The CBS analysts just said they can't take the Texans seriously going forward because we allow so many pts/yds against us at home.
Bad news about Demeco, but it's not like he was taking over games before he was hurt. Hopefully this gives Sharpton or one of the young guys to prove that they're hungry and step up.
Based on last season, Cushing is the best defensive player on this team. I love Demeco, but Cushing can do everything he does, plus he is faster, more athletic, has an eye for the ball, and can get to the QB.
I wrote this in another forum about Tasker, and I forgot about that exact play that replayed show any obvious twitch by their offensive lineman LOL at Steve Tasker who is now realized to be mentally challenged. After the whole game where he brown noses the Chiefs he... -Spends 8 minutes over-dramatizing the Brandon Flowers pass interference that doesn't even matter because Andre still caught the ball? Then I think he follows up the actual call of defensive pass interference by saying something like "And they are going to tack on EVEN MORE yards" (uhh no they aren't) The penalty was actually declined -"Oh wow...this is going to be a long field goal but they have a chance!! YAY" After the Chiefs complete a 20 something yard pass to get them in Texans territory with seconds left IN THE GAME and down by FOUR. He also called Matt Cassel, Matt Schaub several times
And they're probably right... but the good news is that we have more road games than home games going forward.
You know Texans Defense is bad when the CBS Post Game show completely glosses over an improbable comeback drive just to say how bad our D has become (always was)
Seems like a very accurate and reasonable assessment. Our defense is incredibly bad. You can't win with an epic bad defense no matter how good your offense is. As hard as it for some homers to accept, those analysts don't hate the Texans. They may be wrong but they're just calling it like they see it.
