    Are you drinking tonight?

You are talking about the Kings and the Grizz, really?

LOL....sometimes Leeb you are just so far off it is amazing.

Did you see the Battier tip dunk?

    ROFLOL !

    Let's look:

The Lakers are the class of the West, but Kobe is hurting, Bynum is too, they had major roster turnover, and all those extra games will eventually take their toll.

    The Mavericks - Please...lol.

The Spurs - Old, older, and oldest

The Thunder - up and coming, and a great great player in Durant, but still really young....maybe the 2nd best team or the 5th...just don't know.

The Rockets - If Yao is healthy, and he looks it, and with Brad Miller they are right there battling for the top 3 seeds.

The Clippers - They are going to be really good once they realize that Blake Griffin needs to have the ball every single time...Baron Davis may kill that chemistry though.

The Jazz - They are missing Boozer, and Okur....they are going to drop like a stone...lots of turnover with Korver gone now too.

Portland - Chemistry and injury issues abound

Phoenix - No Amare - yeah, gonna struggle big time.

Denver - Melo wants out - nuff said.

Outside of the lakers, there is no clear cut team better than the Rockets....even WITHOUT Yao....

Well he didn't pick Minnesota or Golden State for that statement right?

If really Yao's minutes are limited, then keep his minutes to the 4th Quarter of playoff games

It is all about Yao's health and progress. Now they are taking it easy cause it is preseason. But once a real season starts we will see how Yao handles that and how his body does.

I do think the Rockets have a great roster, very deep but with Yao playing only 24 mpg and no back to backs for him (right now nothing has changed) it will be difficult for us to grab home court adventage. But I am pretty sure we will suprise a lot of people.

And let's see. Yao hasn't finished his last 3 seasons. I don't wanna jinx anything but he is comming off a very difficult surgery so let's wait and see. Hopefully he will be there ready and healthly when the playoffs start.

But I see where Wojnarowski is comming from. Too many questions about this team to tell how good they will be.

Well said. Hopefully the depth of the team can help carry the rockets through the tough times while Yao is trying to get his legs back and not playing back to backs. In the end it will all come down to how well their defense plays to make a big push in the western conference. I still think they need a second shotblocker with size outside of Yao, if they could aquire one then they would be "close" to a complete team. Lets all pray to the injury gods that Yao can stay halfway healthy through out this season.

Yeah, I am just going with what Rick Adelman said....and the doctors on 610am as well saying there is no data to lean on in making that limit, that it is completely made up.

    So there......team giver upper....team quitter........

he is correct, if yao plays every game for only 24 minutes, than we can't contend. But, as previously mentioned, his minutes will increase as the season(and god willing, his foot) progress.

You know what would be great, if we could cone Yao a couple of time, so he would only have to play like 12 minutes a game, but we would still have him dominating.

first that dr on 610 isn't very good. any doctor that advertises on radio spots looking for bizness is a lark. He dusen't know anything about that specific surgery or yao's situation.

second, from what i read on internet they are following same protocol of Big Z. I have heard them say this many times but i think he was even less for a few years. so to say it is made up is bs. there was a least a situation that has occured to a nba player that they are basing the time against

I doubt that yao plays a strict 24 minutes all the way to the playoffs. By february I see him playing around 30. 30 minutes of Yao even through the playoffs is plenty.

    I don't know if we're contenders but I don't think it's significantly related to Yao's minutes.

From watching the preseason games, even a 50% Yao demanded constant double sometimes triple team. I can only see good things for the rest of the Rockets this season, the possibilities Yao opens up for others....
If Yao stays healthy, by all-star break people might start considering us contender again

and i will comment that as far as contenders. Rockets are not this season. Yao isn't back. we are basing his improvement on his ability to get back into BB after layoff right now. also against low quality opp's.

look what happened against DHoward. Not what has happened against Lopez and no names. I am happy he is out there and he is improving but it willtake more time. What seen so far is good but it only takes one wrong step and he is out for 3 games.

so before we say he is back let's give him some time to work back. and when he can compete against good players i will be convinced. but i really don't think that will be until late season or next

Last foot surgery he played all year also. Looked better than this at this time in preseason and got hurt in playoffs. Let's let him ease back and get solid befor we decide his minutes are too limited
