People need to remember 2 guards,2 forwards, and a center. The backups are selected by the coaches. Martin and brooks will be competing against roy, manu, westbrook, williams, nash, parker, billups to name a few. Scola will be competing against alridge, dirk, carmello, gay, randolph, gasol, to name a few.

Just because a player doesnt make the asg, doesnt mean he's not a all star level player.

i can't see martin making the team over brandon roy or kobe, but off the top of my head the PF in the west doesn't seem as deep.

Kevin Martin... Brooks doesn't because the NBA's good ol boy system they have in the west with the point guards.

I think Brooks should have gotten into the all-star last year, hopefully this year he'll rack up the assists and have much less turnovers.

If Brooks happens to be our leading scorer and player which is likely than I think we have a new All-Star on this team.

But he has to avg. at least 20 something plus a good nmbr of assists.

OK, I voted Scola, but I meant Kmart.

    PGs better than Brooks:
Paul, Williams, Nash, Westbrook, Parker?, Billups?, Kidd?, Lowry? (according to many on CF)

    PFs better than Scola:
    Dirk, Gasol, West, Griffin?(still unproven)

    SGs better than Martin:
    Kobe, Roy, Manu?

    Advantage: Kmart.

How come Scola is the worst of the three?

Curriculum Vitae based, Scola is the best man after Yao....

Basketball contribution bases, Scola scores a little less given the same amount of playing time, but contributes A LOT MORE, wether in D or in intangibles, due to his very high basketballl IQ....

Stats based, the outside scoring load will be divided between Brooks and MArtin, and even if Scola scores a little less, he's be far better than MArtin or Brooks in Efficiency rating or in PER rating, as happened the season before this.....

I'd truly like to know why Scola would be inferior to Brooks or Martin then...a very detailed explanation, if it's not too much to ask...

With Amare and Boozer out, I sees scola chance as the highest.
To confirm his position, put him on as center.

I agree. It would be cool if some of them participated in the other competitions though. Like 3pt shooting...

But if anyone gets voted in (<<-- completely dumb-ass system btw) I'd guess it would be AB. Neither Martin (very "quiet" scorer) nor Scola (very vintage post game) have a flashy enough game to get popular support.

It's tough. Brooks and Martin have a shot but look at the guards in the West.

    CP3
    Deron Williams
    Steve Nash
    Kobe
    Brandon Roy

    are locks.

They have to compete with Tony Parker, Ginobili, Billups, Tyreke. One could make it if we're doing well though

If Scola averages 20-8 this season he'll make it. I don't see anyone else having a chance with the competition at guard.
