Man, today had to be the longest day in a while ... Work just couldn't end. I had to goto the dealership to pick up my brand spankin new 350Z. Yeah, I know I was trying to sell it and make a profit, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, I just wanted this a whole lot more than the extra dough. To make a long story short, I picked up the car and let me tell you, it is one of the most beautiful cars I've seen ... totally different than anything else on the road right now, and its just like whoa! I got the Touring edition with the Nav system and all the other options, and its the Sunset exterior and charcoal leather interior. The car handles beautifully, and the turns are completely effortless, and VERY sharp and crisp. 0-60 in 5 and it feels damn good doing it too! The good thing is that you can hear the engine revving, but not so loud that it ruins the experience of driving. All the gadgets are well placed and easy to get to, and the interior finishing is wonderful. Lots of silver to go with the whole Z theme. Can't say more than that the is absolutely gorgeous: coming home from the dealer (about 3 miles away) I was stopped 4 times by folks, who complimented on the car ... way cool! Anyways, been a great day, can't wait to take out in the light tomorrow for the first time --rockit
Hehehe ... yeah, I did put it up for auction ... TWICE, but I guess I lucked out both times ... each time the highest bidder thought they were going to get the NEW car for like $4K ... sooo... then I saw the car at the dealership, and I couldn't resist it. --rockit
Congrats rockit. I saw one drive by me near my apartment complex/work and drooled. Great little car, even better price.
I saw an Orange one on I-45 the other day, nice car. Post some pics! You should go to the Baytown track sometime so we can race.
Hey, Yeah, the pics are coming soon, it was too dark to take pics at night, so I'll be getting home early today to snap away. The car cost me $35 even with taxes, tags, freight, title et al. Consider this, my car is fully loaded right, and the dealer had a car sitting next to mine with NOTHING, no power seats, cd player, nav system, leather seating, nada ... going for $36,400!!! (w/o the tags etc etc) I have never driven a sports car before (don't know if the SL500 counts, but that car is like butter) so getting used to the engine being so loud. Later, --rockit
I'm jealous! Many years ago, before kids, etc. complicated things, I had a red Triumph Spitfire. One of my best friends had a 240Z... and it was sweet! Another buddy had a yellow Spitfire and my cousin had an Austin-Healy 3000. (hope I spelled Healy right) Yet another friend had a '60 or 61 MG. Man, did we have a blast. This was before radar was as prevalent, and you could still find long stretches of winding road to have fun with. The 3000 and Z were on a whole other level (several levels) above the others in performance. The biggest problem was keeping them all running. They all required a bunch of TLC. Did I say I was jealous?
