Blink is like the guy out front defending until the end, when he looks around and says..."Where did everybody go?" DD
I am talking about the 07-08 season, when Yao went down with the injury mid way through the 22 game winning streak. Shut him down and let him get his knee healthy and I doubt he gets MS knee surgery.
He never NEEDED the MS knee surgery. It was an option, but not one recommended by any doctors. He had to LOOK for a doctor that recommended it. All the doctors told him to play through the pain, but he was too p***y and opted out for a possible shortcut.
Actually the Pistons play in a city called Auburn Hills, about an hour north of Detroit---hence the name, "Palace of Auburn Hills." Auburn Hills actually one of the wealthier cities in the US. I believe you're thinking of the city Flint, where Michael Moore is from. Flint is another hour northwest of Auburn Hills.
Not for long, there will be a combination Hockey and Basketball arena right around the Motor City Casino.... DD
news from Detroit about mcgrady He won’t play Wednesday when the Pistons host Dallas in Grand Rapids, but the word from McGrady and around the Pistons is that he’ll be ready for the Oct. 27 season opener. As practice ended Tuesday, McGrady was dragging weights behind him, attacked by cords to a belt around his waist, and doing various other exercises with Kander designed to build strength and ease the stress on his surgically repaired left knee.
Multiple doctors agreed that he didn't need surgery. He only found 1 that thought it could help. Even that doctor commented that the damage to t-mac's knee was barely noticeable and the smallest amount of damaged that he ever operated on. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=163355&page=1&pp=20
Kneemac sat out of tonight's game due to his knee. It's his 3rd straight game with a DNP. He played more minutes under Adelman, when the Rockets were trying to keep his value high. http://www.nba.com/games/20101013/DALDET/gameinfo.html?ls=gt2hp0011000053
You said it yourself, the knicks didn't care how they played. They also didn't care if traceys "value" was high or not. All they wanted was his expiring contract. Not his busted knee. It was a team move and in traceys best interest to limit his minutes. Just like we are doing for yao post surgery. You think we are keeeping yaos value high too? We are just trying to keep him healthy.
Pistons' Tracy McGrady doesn't expect to play rest of preseason Link Right now, Tracy McGrady is focused on being ready to rock Oct. 27 when the Pistons open the regular season at New Jersey. That’s why the plan is for him to skip the last four exhibition games and make sure his body is as fit as possible. McGrady told the Free Press after tonight’s 101-96 loss to the Mavericks that it’s doubtful he would play the rest of the preseason. He said he feels fine and feels that he can play, but he will follow the directions of strength and condition coach Arnie Kander. “I’m starting to get antsy,” he said in the locker room of Van Andel Arena. After hardly playing for two seasons, it’s going to take time for the one-time superstar to get back into playing shape. McGrady, 31, was one of the best players in the game before missing most of the 2008-09 season with a balky left knee. The injury required microfracture surgery in February of 2009 while he was with Houston. He was able to return last season before being traded to the Knicks in February. He only competed in 30 games — a far cry from the grueling 82-game season required of NBA players. A free agent in the off-season, he signed a one-year, $1.35-million deal with the Pistons. McGrady played just eight minutes in the Pistons’ first exhibition game against the Miami Heat. The Pistons took an MRI of McGrady’s surgically repaired knee today and it confirmed his assessment — it’s structurally sound. And he has been working very hard on his body. He has been lifting weights, and he was pulling a platform with weights around the practice facility Tuesday under the watchful eye of Kander. But McGrady knows he has a long way to go to get right. He estimated it might come sooner, but it could take 20 games to get into tip-top basketball shape. But he said there was no way he was going to miss the season opener.
