Anyone else watching this live? Looks like they will start getting the miners up in an hour or two. Would be so great if they actually managed to save all of them.
Gotta be honest: I didn't think they would get ANY of them out. I told my wife that I expected they would be dead within a few days, or weeks at the outside. If they really do make it out, it would be quite an accomplishment. Just heard they're sending 5 workers down to assist in the rescue. Those guys are really, really brave.
So apparently these miners are getting pulled up one at a time. How much would it suck to be the last guy.
yeah, but i believe they have been doing practice runs already...i thnk they're pretty confident the rescue capsule will work...the worry has more to do with the health, physically and psychologically, of the miners caused from this whole thing.
There was an article the other day (don't remember where, so I can't go dig up a link) that said the miners were actually arguing (I took it to be light-hearted) over who would be the last to leave. I'd assume the rescuers sent down will actually be the last to be pulled back out.
they have access to them this whole time....just very limited space to send certain supplies/goods...i believe the area they're in is pretty large so that helps
I know they're doing the rescue at night because the miners aren't used to sunlight, but 11pm local time & US Eastern time (primetime)...has to be for the ratings.
