Manning really did not play all that well today. 2 INTs and 297 passing yards on over 40 attempts. Texans offense was just terrible and Giants had good field position all day.
In one way or another. Peyton had his most yards against us but had a higher QB rating against the Giants. McNabb - Most yards, highest QB rating Romo - highest QB rating, had more yards against Chicago Gradkowski - most yards, highest QB rating Eli - highest QB rating, had more yards against the Titans
Ouch. Defense fail. It's not like the sample size is insignificant either. That's about a 1/3 of the sesaon.
If anyone seriously thought with the kids in the secondary, no major changes to the defensive line (especially with Barwin lost in the first quarter of the first game) and the schedule that this team was going to cruise to 11-5, you were delusional. With some breaks and good offense, 10-6 is possible, but it wouldn't be a shock to see 9-7 or even 8-8. This is still a very good team offensively, but they have VERY little depth on the O-line, a very weak D-line and a secondary made up of kids barely out of college. Most thought they would be lucky to be 3-3 going into the bye especially without Cushing for the first four games. They can't do ANY worse than that, so I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. They were BAD in this game. VERY bad. But, they have also been stunningly good and showed great resilience. Like usual, consistency is a problem and it will continue to be a problem if they are going to rely on youngsters in key positions. It isn't as if the rest of the league is running away though. This is the first time since 1970 there hasn't been a 4-0 team. The league is really balanced and my guess is, like everyone else, the Texans will continue to be up and down. Hell, it wouldn't shock me if there were only a couple 11-5 teams and one 8-8 team made the playoffs at the rate we are going.
You have failed to mention that they play with no toughness, and routinely get whipped like rented mules when they play tough, hard nosed football teams. Not only this year, but every year. The league has seen them for what they are, have made the proper adjustments, and now Kubiak doesn't have the answers or the personnel to adjust back. They are a few lucky breaks away from being 1-3.
Third game where a team from the NFC East has completely outplayed the Texans. The secondary needs some changes. Also confused to as why there weren't a lot of blitzes? At least Cushing looked good today.
The Texans are a decent team, they are still growing. They need better play callling though, and Schaub needs to stop locking into one receiver and holding the ball. Dang, terrible game today. DD
welp, looks like people are panicing and picking us to finish under .500, calm down people, the season isn't over, why can't our fanbase act more intelligently
Schuab is not looking sharp. I have been saying this . . . He just does not look the same from last year I thought the advent of a running game would help him speaking of which . . .13 carries?? [less than 20 anyway] Rocket River
Trading deadline soon approaching, I would offer Carolina a third round pick for any of their corners..any. Our secondary looks confused on pass coverage. It's just horrible to see. Why would any other coach playing against even bother running the ball..ay dios mio.
What a simply awful performance, not just in execution but effort. How many eggs can this team lay on its home field? They looked like a team that was simply not ready for the game. This has happened far too many times to be a coincidence. I thought this team was all about getting tougher? What a disappointment. I guess mediocrity is really, really hard to overcome.
It's not how, it's if. There is often a slivers difference between a good team and a great team, a mediocre team and a good one, etc. That's just the way it is. There is this prevalence in society today to think things are either the worst they can possibly be or the best when, in reality, most things (probably 90 percent of the time) are somewhere in the middle.
