Just to play what ifs.. looking back at the 2007 draft, the Texans could have drafted Darell Revis, Patrick Willis, or Michael Griffin
It's these types of decisions continue to be skeptical of Kubiak (although some here would label that bias). Although I sincerely doubt McNair would can Kubiak unless this team totally collapses to 6-10 or 5-11 territory. I don't see that happening unless something major occurs like Schaub going down. Are they a playoff team? As of now, no. Their defense is simply too porus and the numbers I posted earlier from Football Outsiders back this up.
it IS on you Gary. Yet another "nice" Houston guy who gets waaaaay to much of a leash. It's one thing to lose. It's another thing all together to get whipped and beat down by teams that are more physical and hard working. We have seen that way too much around here the last decade. It got old a long time ago.
A few teams with high expectations having crappy days today... Texans - Understood Packers - Losing in Washington Bengals - Losing at home to TB Colts - They won but looked not so good on offense Chargers - Look like crap against the Raiders so far Should be a WILD ride with all this parity throughout the NFL.
I think he should be fired if he doesn't make the playoffs, but if we finish below .500 (very possible at this point) after starting 3-1, I can't see any justification for letting him come back so can coach us to yet another mediocre year. Kubiak is a mediocre coach. He gets mediocre results. He's a known commodity. His teams won't completely suck, but they won't be very good either.
I want to add this. Our Oline sucked today, in fact we are 2-0 with Duane Brown. I think he helps out so much in the running game that he makes the passing game that much easier. We got NO PUSH at all this week, guys were meeting Foster in the backfield...**** NBA season needs to start. At least the Rockets overachieve and when they lose you always feel they just lost to the better team.
Let's just go down the line: QB: D RB: D WR: B TE: B OL: D- DL: F LB: C+ CB: F- S: D+ ST: D Playcalling: D D scheme: D Motivation: F Drafting a CB in the first round that can't cover: F Taking multiple TEs for the second straight year in the draft: F Starting that same CB over McCain: F Refusing to find a veteran replacement for Robinson: D Turning down Schobel before the season because you're cheap: D Waiting until you're desperate and he's out of shape to try him out: F
Wow, I'm having a hard time coming up with justification for an argument. If he wants to win he is clearly a very hands off owner, then he needs to get the absolute very best football people in to run this thing.
