Out of curiosity, why is Beck a bigot?

I'm not a Beck scholar, and I'm sure there's a LOT more out there, but his screed about President Obama as a "racist" with a pathological hatred of "white people" and "white culture" is basically classic, white supremacist group paranoia-propaganda straight out of the Aryan Nation rally.

Do you think any black person who falsely labels someone a racist is also a bigot?

I do not wish to debate whether Beck is crazy, radical, inflammatory, etc. because I accept all those as true, but I would like to see further evidence that he is a bigot.

It's not really the false label - it's the entire context and nature of his remarks.

He is knowingly spouting the preachings and codewords of white supremacist groups (things like "white culture" and "the white race" are dead giveaways - nobody other than the KKK and their ilk even use. the term)

Furthermore, he does this in the context of a larger narrative that the president who is a foreign born muslim who wants to come, put you in a camp, and takeaway your guns.

Here is a definition of the word bigot:

If you don't think that the above description fits with this then I don't know what to say.

I'm not saying Beck is a bigot, but he clearly hates black people.

unfortunately he is trying to do things within our current system, i was hoping he would start with reforming our system and then proceeding to implement his policies. washington was broken long before obama and bush though, hopefully he is able to fix it or spark future changes

With the exception of his idiotic rant(s) against Obama (one man) are there other examples demonstrating he has a hatred of black people?

Beck's Arguing With Idiots is rife with cartoons depicting serape- and sombrero-clad Mexicans with thick mustaches. The book also uses a cartoon Chinese takeout container to represent Chinese immigrants

Glenn Beck is a previously divorced, drug addict, drunk, college dropout, cash 4 gold shill, with diagosed mental health issues who once sent a hamster through a bank drivethrough tube to increase his ratings on his morning zoo show. He is basically a less funny and less educated version of Howard Stern and anyone who would actually listen to him and consider his ideas anything more than shockjock garbage intended for the unintelligent and easily entertained sheep should refrain from voting and procreation for the betterment of all mankind.

he said that Katrina victims are "scum", he "hates" a certain group of 9/11 Families, and that "slavery wasn't really that bad until the government got involved."

these are all direct quotes from his radio program.

who cares whether people here actiually listen to him or not.

that's all I need to hear.

I googled Glenn Beck and slavery and came up with this snippet from his radio program. What he really says is that slavery didn't exist until the government got involved.... at least in this snippet but it is from only a week ago...

Offer your dumbass friend a great deal on Apocalypse Seeds. Then sell him a few gold bars at a ridiculous markup.

There is potential for serious profit here.

Did you bother to listen to the link I provided? It doesn't say what is, allegedly, quoted directly. As I said, maybe there is another quote, but the one I cited is just from last week.

If criminals are due a defense, so are people with unpopular opinions-- especially when they are mis-characterized as "so often" happens here. Hail to the Cadre!!

How many times does a person have to say something racist before you accept that they are a racist?

No. No I did not. I am laughing instead of crying at your posting history in this arena, where wealthy, chubby, fairly stupid shock jock media white men say/do/write things that can only be described as race baiting by a logical audience member, and you rush in to defend said wealthy, chubby, fairly stupid shock jock media white men, in a predictable fashion.

I'm not sure why it's a hobby of yours.

The only cadre at work is a very well established cadre of chubby white men in US America who don't want to see anything, ever, change. You probably wouldn't know anything about that cadre, but I'm telling you it's more important than a small group of over-educated so-called libruls on an internet forum.
