Actually got it today, and have doing the My Player, which as always is a lot of fun. Have had an excellent career so far. As a 6'1'' Defensive PG, I got drafted by the Kings with the 33rd pick, and as the Kings absolutely suck at PG, I've gotten lots of time. And we're currently 6-2. Don't plan to be leaving this team for a while.
I started My player today and got through all the combine nicely.. I choose 6'8 athletic. my mid range jumpshot is now on 89 and shoot off dribble 75 and shoot in traffic 75, which helps.. i love this game mode, had no problems.. i got drafted by memphis round 1 pick 12 after i dropped 40 in the last draft combine game... I may request trade because they play me Centre and i can't play D on 7 footers lol
Have there been any errors like freezing in my player mode? I had the most incredible pg and it froze at the beginning of season 2 and I could never play with him again. I averaged like 50 - 10 - 10 -12 pts, boards, dimes, and steals. edit: okay so yeah, the problem still exists. I've lost faith in this game. I was planning to buy it, but ehh
Do people play simulation and quarter length of 12 minutes? with my player? Or is 10 minutes long enough?
I can't fathom averaging numbers close to that. How the hell do you guys do that?? Did y'all mess with the game sliders at all? Or did anyone simulate through the season to boost up your rating? It just seems crazy to me.
I guess it depends on what type of player you want him to be. One thing you can do is take away points form attributes that you don't need and use those point to add to attributes you need. For example, you could reduce speed from a 75 to 74 and bank about 300 points. Then use those points to increase 3pt shooting from a 50 to 51.
I had read somewhere, that when you take points away from other skills, you only get 75% of the points back. Not sure if true.
can anyone tell me how to get better, I have started season mode and I can easily blow out bad teams like golden state, NY, Hornets, etc. but I lost to the Lakers, Nuggets, and Thunder....how do I stop these superstars???? I tried putting battier on them but he cant stop them from scoring, Im sitting at a record of 5-5
Played some of the My Player stuff. Some improvements, but still seems more or less like 2K10. Guess not really a surprise. Good to see fast break layups and putbacks from offensive rebounds are still "bad shots" for athletic 6'10" players. Granted, your player sucks so bad they will miss from time to time (well I do ), but I can't see that being worse than some of the crap your teammates put up. A bit of a nitpick (not like this affects your grade much), but little stuff like that bothers me. Maybe a bit early, but definitely not the best sports game of the generation IMO (MLB The Show is way better...and some other sports games might be better too). Easily best basketball game (probably ever), but that's not saying much. On a side note, are any other PC gamers having problems with the behind the back and spin Isomotion moves? I'm not having any problems with the other moves, but for some reason, these aren't working for me. Briefly searched online, and it seemed like others mentioned something similar, although reports were a bit inconsistent (some could do it, others couldn't...or it would depend on online/offline). Guess I might check out the PS3 demo at some point and see if I can do it there (need to make sure I'm not just being bad at the controls). Otherwise, seems like another bug. No ball handling drills in My Player I guess.
It's probably because you suck... If you think this game is anything like any of the NBA Lives... you're sorely mistaken. I don't know how you could even think that.
I've still only played in Jordan Challenge and there is a lot that disappoints me. 1) Rebounding: There is no boxing out, just players jumping for rebounds. Very frustrating. 2) Steals. The CPU is ridiculous with their ability to jump passes. 3) Fastbreaks: It's very hard to run a fastbreaking team because the CPU is ridiculously fast at getting back on defense. On the reverse, when the CPU runs a fastbreak it seems like they can teleport to the other side of the court. All that said, the game is still highly enjoyable, and playing as Jordan alone is enough for me to love this game. Playing the series with the Lakers is simply awesome awesome awesome. Watching Magic Johnson throw assists like crazy and playing as Horace Grant... Love this game.
I averaged about the same thing, lol. Nope after one season you should be good enough to get about 100,000-200,000 worth in milestones from ROY, All-NBA team, etc. etc. and you basically use that to upgrade all your stats. At the start of your 2nd NBA season you should be good enough to pretty much do whatever you want at will...
1. Agreed. There is still boxing out, it's just that everyone had their verticals raised like 20" to the point where boxing out won't even matter. 2. Also agree. I've had players not even staring at the general direction of the ball and being able to grab it like he's psychic or something... 3. 100% agreed. I'd also like to add it's impossible to get past your man without like flurries of crossover dribbles and spins, and that doesn't even matter considering the help defense collapses so fast in this game, and then add in how they made blocks way too easy to get in this game... It's impossible to score in the paint with a PG...
I guess I haven't really played enough (especially at the higher difficulties), but I kind of like the way the CPU steals passes. Guess it could be tweaked a bit, but I kind of like the fact that I can no longer carelessly pass the ball to players. I have to pay attention to spacing, angles, etc. Maybe they went a bit overboard, but I don't think they should change it too much.
