I sure hope that comes true....in college or high school football. Or maybe even girls volleyball. They probably have schools where the girls' teams are called Cowgirls. My school has Bobcats and Ladycats.
Last year means nothing at this point. Dallas has added more talent, and will have a more confident Quincy Carter. Just for the record you guys do realize that this will be the first time Q has ever played against the Eagles?
Or you could do some research. Ever since Jerry bought the team, he has been able to do whatever he wants. You think Dave Campo is the head coach? HA! He is just a puppet. They are all puppets. Thats why Johnson left. He no longer wanted to be Jerry's pawn.
DrewP- glad you can read a-hole. Just wanted to let the cowboy fans know that they can run as much smak as they want but in the end it just comes down to scoreboard.
Now the shoe is on the other foot for a change. Cowboy fans don't like Texan fans talking smak and running their mouths. Now that is the pot callin' the kettle black. Just get over it, we got scoreboard for the next 4 years.
I didn't talk trash before, and I don't like the Texan smack talking, but I take it anyway. Its all apart of being a fan. When your team loses to another team, you take talk from that team's fans. I get a lot of "the Rockets suck" at school. I don't go off on them and eat their brains. I just take it, but try to persuade them that the Rockets don't. JMO on these things. (so talk all the trash you want, I can take it! )
Are you actually trying to insinuate that Jerry had anything to do with putting the super bowl teams together? He could have very well held the title of gm back then, but who cares? Everyone and I mean EVERYONE, other than maybe you, knows that Jimmy put that team together and Jerry did nothing other than approve whatever Jimmy wanted to do. Then he got all cocky and wanted the respect and admiration of everyone for having actually put the team together. When he did not do that! Jimmy got sick of his posturing for cameras and doing interviews and taking credit! So, Jimmy bolted and basically left it for Jerry to prove he ACTUALLY COULD put together a super bowl team. What did Jerry do? Hire his buddy from Oklahoma, whom got run out of his college job! This guy had no business being an NFL coach. He tried to stay out of the way and they managed, on sheer talent and good assistant coaches, to win another title. Then the sham was really on. The players started bolting in free agency and top players stopped wanting to come to Dallas. Jerry took over decision making on draft day and the team had many terrible drafts in a row! That is why the team is in the state it is now. I am not going to bash the cowboys, I was a HUGE fan of the Cowboys when they won all the time and did it with respect for themselves and their opponents. Jerry purchased the team and immediately disrespected one of the most admired, professional, and successful coaches of all time! That was disgusting! He ran Jimmy off! That was disgusting! How, you guys can continue to blindly follow this guy is beyond me. I will never be a Cowboys fan again, as long as Jerry is the owner. He does not deserve it. His track record shows that he will step on anyone, to try to prop himself up. Another thing, I am a native Houstonian. Always a big time Oiler fan since before Earl Campbell came on the scene. We had an owner that over time showed disrespect to people in how he handled the affairs of the team. He ran off good people. He meddled in the putting together of the talent on the team. He really got in the way of the coaches trying to build a winner and hence we could never win when it counted. What did we do as a city... basically run the guy out of town. We are better off for it! We have an owner now that is bent on running things with respect and class, just like the Tex Schramm, Tom Landry Cowboys. I feel sorry for you guys. You will suffer for a long time. One last thing... we have seen the Oilers/Titans blow many a game that they were supposed to win. This is just typical of this team. Not a sign the Cowboys all of a sudden got good in a week. Another reason I am glad that team is gone... keep in mind the Titans went to a Super Bowl, shockingly enough to all of us in Houston, although they did need a miracle finish, (while heavy favorites) just to get there. Then they blow it in the playoffs the next year, as a heavy favorite. Then as a heavy favorite last year, they go 7-9. How many teams that beat them last year, thought that was a great sign of things to come for their team????
i didnt care who won the titans vs girls game. i hate dallas, but tenn is in our division and i just cant root for anyone in our division. now we are all one and one so its all good. you know how all the experts were saying the girls would win their first game and then probably lose theyre next four. well look at the schedule. they just flip flopped the first two. cowboys will be 1-4. the cowboys used to be americas team. now a days its obviously the carolina panthers.
What does any of that have to do with Jerry being the GM, and Jimmy not being the GM? What you said just proves my point that Jerry was the GM during the 90's dynasty so he deserves as much credit as Jimmy does.
There's no denying that Jimmy was a very big part of Dallas' success but he was not the sole reason we won all those Super Bowls. If he was then Miami would be in the middle of a very long run themselves. Like I said Jimmy & Jerry are the reason we won. Both had equal parts in the success we had. Also for the record, Jimmy didn't want Troy he wanted Steve Walsh. Jerry made the decision to keep Troy over Walsh. Also Jimmy didn't want Emmitt. He wanted a stud DT. Again Jerry, and one of the scouts made the decision to take Emmitt. Again if you guys don't know that then maybe you should do more research.
I'm only just now responding from this because I've been laughing so hard at the suggestion that the Cowboys might actually get somewhere near the playoffs this year. Bwa hahahahahahhhaha Oh, my....that was good. Let me catch my breath. Oh and DrewP, the best thing about us "holding on" to our one little glimmer of happiness by beating the Cowboys, is that in four years....... We're still going to be better than the Cowboys!!! Bwa hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
The funny thing is that in 4 years the Cowboys may still be the only team the Texans have beaten. Now that's funny!
And we'll beat those cowboys every 4 years to the end of eternity. So we'll be the best team in Texas.
