Maybe someone just needs to show him how to use a clutch.

He looked like he's been working hard with Carol Dawson this summer on his game. Maybe next summer he could work with Hakeem, but he is not ready and hasnt earned that privledge yet.

What will keep him on the floor though is consistency on the defensive end guarding Centers, rebounding, and avoiding turnovers. Tonight against the spurs he gave a taste of what he could be offensively in the future, but defensively he still leaves his feet way too often and fouls, doesnt get in the best position to get rebounds even though he should be able to get up higher than his opponent.

Adelman is putting alot of pressure on him to perform at a high level now rather than at the end of the season and seems to be running out of patience with the mistakes. Hill has a short window to clean that up but if he does improve on the little things he will be seeing big minutes with the way our Center postion is right now.

No other team in the NBA will a 3rd string Center get as much playing time as he will and potentiall average 14 pts/8 rebounds a night. The points will be there from cleaning up on the glass, but to get to the next level he has to make the defense respect his jump shot, and put the ball on the floor to drive to the hoop.

Good post. I would only add that Hill needs to get tougher, meaner defensively. Low single digit rebounds just won't cut it. Get Moses to teach him how to box out, hold position.

He needs to be at the PF position but we have too many. This is a tough predicament

When you're posting up and you're trying to get around a guy, you need to cover a lot of distance with your first step. Never said he was slow. His running speed is impressive but what the value of that for playing as a center outside of fast-breaks?

I think his game, right now, is better suited at the 4, too. Don't really think it's unclear, though: he either learns the 5 or we move him to back Scola or trade him.
