I've seen James Shield pitch dominantly in the playoffs before, Wilson is still unproven in my eyes and walks to many batters.
You're funny. Yeah man, now that's it's playoffs, James Shields and his 7.00 ERA in September over 27 IP in 5 starts, will suddenly turn it on! Watch out Rangers!!! (To be fair, though, CJ Wilson has had a bad September, too... not quite as bad, but still pretty bad. It's suffice to say that Game 2 will be an offensive battle, not a pitcher's duel. Texas' bullpen is a lot better than Tampa Bay's, though.)
That's what happens when your starter for game 1 has hardly pitched the past two seasons. Phillies are going to roll over the Reds, waste of a playoff spot.
Phillies look locked in, Reds have good heart but just not the playmakers that the Phillies have. Wouldn't be surprised if this thing ends in 3 games, their real challenge will come in the NLCS when they face some legit pitching.
Yeah. 3 more innings until Halladay has a no-hitter. That would be a pretty nice post-season debut. Of course, I probably just jinxed him.
