I like that my last name is unique, but it is almost never spelled correctly without assistance. The sad thing is, it's incredibly simple if you just listen.

    Unique thread... I like it.

I love all three of my names, although I didn't as a kid. I was raised Catholic, so I was always bummed I didn't have the name of a saint. Always wished I was a Mark or Joseph... just because I liked those names when I was young and we always celebrated my Grandfather's "saints day." It was almost like having two birthdays for him.

    My name and their meanings:

    (1st) Eric
    Origin: Norse
    Meaning: Eternal Ruler

    (Middle) Alan
    Origin: Celtic
    Meaning: Handsome or Harmonious

My mom chose the names because the "baby names" book she read described Alan as soft, sweet, and handsome and Eric as masculine and tough. She hoped my personality would contain the same juxtaposition (ha!). I always liked that...

The one unfortunate thing is that my last name, while awesome and unique, begins with an R... making my initials spell EAR.
