I have an extra Friday ticket my friend payed a little over face for and now can't go. Anyone interested?
I know I'm older and partial to classic rock and punk, but that deadmau5 stuff sucked big time back when it was done in the 80's and still sucks today.
Last year I parked on the streets by Taco Deli off Baron Skyway and Mopac and walked 10 minutes through the greenbelt to zilker, that worked really well. Lots of space on those streets for parking. Also they have sidewalk all the way down the Mopac feeder from that location so you can take that route as well...
this is the million dollar question every year. aka who do you know that lives close to zilker so you can park at their house question
we parked in that neighborhood just south of barton springs and that worked ok. is there anywhere north of the lake to park and walk across?
I pay the $25 to park at Shady Grove. It's a bit pricy, but it's close, flat, and not too terrible to get out of. I parked once at the softball fields off of Toomey (behind Chuy's), but it took over an hour to get out of there. Used to park at the church on the corner of Mopac and 2244. Only $10, but the walk back was a pain...especially now with 2 kids. That's the main reason we park at Shady...getting the kids in and out of the park with relative ease. You probably have to get there very early, but I think you can park down by Run Tex.
cool. we're staying at the la quinta by the capitol building which was why i was asking. may just do the same thing we did last year, but drop the peeps off at the front so i don't have to carry anything
Trust me, no you don't. They are god awful live. Finally found a hotel room for tomorrow. I'm usually able to get a 4 star hotel downtown for under $100 on priceline. Looks like things are a little more booked this week though, because I had to pay that much for a 3.5 star this time.
I'm going to his Friday night aftershow to get my fill. I wasn't sure I'd like him either until I caught him at Stubb's last year. Totally awesome set!
Going on friday. Can't wait to see Spoon. Saw the Black Keys with Kings of Gayon a couple weeks ago at the Woodlands. They only played four songs that weren't off the new album, but they only played for 45 mins. Not hat I don't like the new album, it just doesn't really rock as hard as they do in general. It will be okay because I got tickets to their aftershow Saturday night. Woot! Hour and a half set, here I come! Really excited to see the National on Sunday. Not going to ACL Saturday, just the Keys aftershow.
I'll give you and T a shout later this week. I'm only hitting the fest on Friday but will be in town all weekend (Black Keys saturday).
Im not going to ACL this year but I hope yall check out Balmorhea. They are a bit off the beaten path, but I love neo-classical and Balmorhea is just lovely. Check em out if yall get a chance.
Unfortunately I was unable to nab tickets to ACL in time. But I did get tickets to see Deadmau5 for the afterparty at Austin Music Hall <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QV8eiSA4vqc?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QV8eiSA4vqc?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Anyone else going ?
****er! find us tix!!! if we don't get in touch for some reason, we'll be watching mofro from base camp at the main stage, right-hand side facing stage, right by the beer tents (at least how it was set up last year).
