    No, cheers was filmed "in front of a live studio audience" (like they say at the beggining of each show), on a backlot in LA.

    The shot of the bar, from the outside, is in Boston. Its the bull and finch pub, and its a great place to visit. Loads of Cheers memorabilia, and they even have Melville's (the restraunt upstairs...)

    However, the inside looks nothing like the tv cheers.
