As a Rockets fan, hardcore, and biased, i can't help but thinking we are finally a contender. We have Yao, and Steve, and company ( no dis on no one mentioned). I feel like we are finally assembled, and this is our year. Call me crazy, but i feel like we could go all the way. But as i said i am biased, very much so, I was wondering how far do ya'al think we'll go? I think it's possible we could make it to the second round this year. In a couple years I think it's remotely possible we could go all the way.
I think that we will go into the playoffs and out in the 1st or the 2nd round, but as you know most teams experience growing pains for a little while, eventually this team can become something very specialy though, I would not however make a pact with you in order to make it happen, Satan.
Let's get Yao and Boki some NBA experience before we annoint the Rocks as champs. Yao is going to have a rough season this year. It will take time to adjust to the physical play of some of the best centers in the NBA. Yao's game will adjust in time and he will emerge in a couple of years as the marquee center we all know he will be. Patience...
Mr. Satan, you might want to try probing aroung the Mavericks' organization, instead. I think it might be a lot more fertile ground for you to buy some souls.
i like the positive attitude but nachbar and ming have yet to play a game and on top of that the rocks haven't made the playoffs in 3 years. one step at a time. we have a legit shot at getting to the second round this year though if we get the right matchups.

The 1st part of the season will be finding out who's healthy & who can do what. The last 3rd of the season will be our push to the #6 playoff spot. Our success in round 1 of the playoffs depends who gets the #3 spot LA or Sac. I think we have a better chance against Sac.
I have never understood how people can predict how many games we will win/lose a short series in when the entire season hasn't even been played yet...I have enough trouble doing that before the 1st game of the series, let alone the season...Given the variables like matchups/injuries/player development/who's hot/not/home court etc. I have no idea where some of you guys get this stuff... That said, we'll beat the Mavs in round 1 in 4 games on a Mobley fadeaway near the left elbow over Micheal Finley, who would have blocked the shot if he hadn't taken a wide turn around the pick set by Ming.

MacBeth, What is hard to understand that SxAxTxAxNx666 as a moniker is being purposely chosen to make a mockery of cc.net. It is very easy...you ban that moniker ... just because. If you don't, the kid is laughing at cc.net everytime he posts. It is a battle.net tactic to annoy.
I think the Rockets have a chance to pull off some major upsets. And yes maybe they could go all the way. The Rockets have heart. Add the 45 win season with Yao Ming , Boki, a better Mobley, and a Better Eddie Griffin. A healthy Glen Rice, and a better bench. Rockets will be the Nets of this year. We will surprise alot of people. Since Steve Francis came into the league, the rockets have set a new record each year. First, was First Rookie to lead his team in All categories. Next was Best Record ever not to make the playoffs. And this past year was most overtime games played in a season. This year we should get Best record improvment from the year before. We'll make the biggest jump from 28 wins, to 50+. I have great expectaions for my favorite team. This is the year.
We also will have Francis. He missed a ton of games last year and we lost most of them. Look at the line up we have that we didn't most of last year (Steve): MT Yao Rice Steve Nachbar Tito Those are serious additions to the team!
