Madden 11

I ended up getting it for the Wii. It is about what I expected it to be, but it is still a good game, though it is annoyingly hard to throw lob passes.

Thank god they are changing it back. I do not like the strategy pad. I actually like the quick hot route changing for off and def with this, but line shifts just take way too much time with this setup.

 

How do you accept a game invite from a friend?

Me and a buddy of mine are trying to figure out how to play each other online...why is this so difficult?

IIRC, they don't usually bother with a roster update until the end of preseason when everyone is forced to make their cuts.

I've got a question. I recently logged into xbox live to get a couple demos, then it said updates were available for the game so I updated it. Now I can't press the A button to go back to select a player on defense, I can only use B! It really gets on my nerves, anyone know how to solve this?

 

I have the same problem on PS3... Freaking annoying. The coverage audible menu keeps popping up. Wish they would have left that alone

 

They re-inserted and defaulted to the pre-play controls from Madden 10 with one of the patches. You need to go into the Game Settings and switch it back and y'all will be good to go.

My GAWD! I finally picked this game up (bought used on ebay thank goodness) and I'm ridiculously unimpressed. I can't believe EA has managed to run this franchise into the ground like this. This piece of garbage is going right back ON ebay. Just ordered NBA 2K11...hope that one doesn't suck as well.

I just heard 2K Sports is working it out to bring back an NFL game by 2013. The jerks at EA really need some competition out there.

 

I totally agree with you, it's probably one of the worst games I have ever bought, the game is simply garbage.

P.S. are you having difficulties playing online, bcuz it won't let me..?

 

I would not call the game garbage, but it has serious flaws. I dont understand how they "test" these games and it still comes out like that.

Highlights
-Some of the catches and tackles have better graphics.
-Always wanted that fade route installed as an audible.
- Like the running game


I have been playing online lately and am frustrated with the online play. Defense is impossible. Quarterbacks like Matt Stafford are fast enough to just keep moving backwards, avoid pass rush and then throw a moving bomb to someone down field (unrealisitc)

 

Anybody have problems with the game freezing up after the Super Bowl?

 

The passing is easier than last year, but that's not saying much. This year isn't special, but I like the Madden Moments better.

 

Just a few of the problems:

-Game freezes randomly during franchise mode...even after patch #3(!).
-EVERY SINGLE game on franchise mode, both QBs are the "players to watch" highlighted at the beginning of the game...even if it's Seneca Wallace.
-Pass defense has become ridiculous, online and off.
-Franchise mode has actually been dumbed down from previous years. It's pretty much just a sequence of "Quick Games" strung together with some lame "features" plugged in between them.
-Trading is still ridiculous and free agency is a joke.
-You have to press about 7-8 buttons in sequence to change a hot-route for one player.
-Audibles on defense, changes to coverage and LB/DL shifts are nearly impossible with all of the buttons you have to press now. Even with the "classic" controls brought back with the patch (that's patch #THREE, btw...already).
-All Madden mode (what I've always played on in the past) has become ridiculous. Low level WRs routinely break 4-5 tackles, QBs all run like Michael Vick, defenses seem like they know what play you're running right off the bat, etc.

F*** you, EA.

 

This is the worst part about the game. If you play online, people will just sprint back 20 yards with their QB and launch perfectly accurate bombs downfield, it's incredibly unrealistic. Even when I hit the quarterback with one of my blitzers they always seem to throw perfect passes anyways.

 

Yeah, luckily I didn't waste the money on the "online pass" you have to buy if you bought the game used.

My first game in franchise mode as the Texans, I beat the Colts something like 52-49 (on All-Madden). I thought, "No biggie, that COULD happen." Next game, Mcnabb sets the NFL record for passing yards in a game with over 560...I still won. Might be the last game of Madden I ever play (which feels very weird having grown up with this game). Hopefully it's the last EA game I ever feel the need to buy.
