And… Jason La Canfora of the NFL network reports that the Texans have signed CB Karl Paymah who was cut by the 49'ers on Sep.3rd. He worked out for the Texans today.
Yeah right. This guy would be lucky to be active on gamedays. He is going be the 4th defensive back at best.
At some point someone in the secondary is going to get injured. Just good for insurance.. wish we couldve got Schobel. Oh well .
The same thing was said last season after Pollard signing. He must suck since the lowly Chiefs cut him! But ya idk anything about this kid.
Not really the same deal. Pollard was cut due to clashing with the new coach if I remember correctly. Pollard was known as at least a serviceable starter. I don't know much about this guy, but he looks like he has bounced around the league a bit and just filled out rosters. That being said, he cannot be any worse than the guys on the team already, he could very well get playing time
Goodbye, Yao.. (alright, enough of that...) Former Bronco of course. Getting guys with Denver ties even though is been half a decade removed from them. Won't even pretend like I've heard of the guy outside seeing his name on a Madden roster. Who gets cut?
We had the most inexperienced CB unit in the NFL going into the season. Doesn't it reason that the Falcons with Robinson now lead the NFL in INT with 6 while we are stuck with 0 INT?
No, it Doesn't it reason. How many INT's does Robinson have in the last 2 seasons (this and last)? Edit: Already stated above.
I don't want to start this into a different thread but... Robinson has had one fewer interception than Nnamdi Asomugha this season and the past one. For comparison: Ravens' defense allow the fewest yards per attempt and fewest yards per game, and allow the third lowest completion percentage but have 0 interceptions. Texans are deadlast in yards per game allowed, 2nd to last in yards per attempt allowed, and have had 72.8% of passes completed on them but have 0 interceptions. Our top 3 corners at the end of the past season were Quinn, Robinson and Reeves.
Not much of a move IMO. I was really upset that Smith didn't address the secondary (other than Kareem) this past offseason. Thought we should have went after Vasher after being cut from the Bears, he would have brought some experience at the very least.
Huh? Dunta doesn't have any of those INT's, nor did he have any of our INT's last year. Dunta isn't the reason anyone's getting INT's, plus... he hasn't really done much of anything this year. He might cover better than Jackson has so far, but I still wouldn't have kept him for $12 million a year, or whatever nonsense he was asking for.
I wish we still had him though. Quinn and Jackson might have talent, but allowing them to learn on the fly like this could cripple our season. Having Jackson as a 3rd corner would make me feel so much better. Having the rookie out thier every play, has been tough to watch. Manning, McNabb and Romo have abused him so far. The Texans front office believe in these kids so we will see how it pans out. As the season moves on, I expect to see improvment. But if we can't get a pass rush like Sunday, we are gonna get lit up!
