Start of off-season, Jordan Hill = Young Chris Bosh Middle of the off-season, Jordan Hill = Mikki Moore End of the off-season, Jordan Hill= < Alexander Johnson The guy was very good down the stretch for us. He is not fundamentally sound so skills competitions during camp and summer leagues, where veteran players work on skills and moves, are not going to be his strong point. He's fast and athletic. Hes going to hustle. Just let him do his thang.
So..? it was a scrimmage, it's not bid deal, I bet Hill can beat Yao right now 1 on 1, does that make him better than Yao..? NO.
I agree with this, but ATST, we really don't know how good Hill will be. I still have faith, but I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a bust.
Jordan Hill's game feeds of playmakers he is not yet a great 1 on 1 player which johnson might be. But Hill didn't do great in the SL bc he didn't nearly have enough player makers there. He is not a great defender but an average one at best but he is a good team defender and if he gets beat he knows he has help. So to me this 1 on 1 game means nothing and proves nothing
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/7222732.html [rquoter]With Yao Ming's minutes limited and Brad Miller out with a sprained ankle, there has been extra playing time available for power forwards playing at center. Coach Rick Adelman cited the play of Jordan Hill and Alexander Johnson in particular Tuesday. "Those two guys have been the two that have stood out with Brad out and Yao limited," Adelman said. "We have to play everybody there. It reminds me of last year, playing with two forwards." Johnson signed with the Rockets late last season, giving him a place with the summer league team and in training camp. Adelman said he would give Johnson more of a look when preseason games begin next week.[/rquoter] Coach doesn't seem to be having a problem with Hill's play. Johnson's doing well too. This is all good news.
Have to say from what I have seen of AJ, he seems like a Rockets type high effort player in the Landry/Hayes/Lowry mold. The main thing with our deep roster is that it forces everyone to give maximum effort because there is always someone behind them who is capable and hungry for minutes.
im glad most of clutchfans is finally starting to realize jordan hill sucks... cant believe how you guys were overrating him last season. it made me want to throw up
Hey I was the leader of the "JORDAN HILL SUCKS SQUAD"and the factis I think many on this board overrated him. But after watching him some with the Rockets, my assessment of him has changed. Yes he is not on the level some on this board still believe. But he is also and was never as bad as I first proclaimed. And now the coaches are saying he came into camp more agressive than he was in Summer League and I think he could have a role on this team and it might be better not to sign Dampier. On a side not I think the Dampier Agent is waiting on Houston and not the other way around. Come on Houston with more money and better team vs the Bucks and less cash and glory!
