First, Yao will not be back to 100%.

Second, if Melo doesn't want to be in Houston, I don't think Yao has much to do with that decision. In Melo's mind POPULARITY>>>WINNING.

Good point. It's always a gamble when you give away a proven asset or receive one.

Carmelo will not go to the Nets if they are trading Devin Harris and Favors, especially if they are including draft picks. He would actually be in a worse situation, and would probably not be able to convince Paul to sign there, since the other Eastewrn Conference teams will look much more appealing

Carmelo doesn't give a damn about winning. NYC area wouldn't even be on his list if so.

He's trying to set up a Melo/Amar'e/CP3 trio in NYC.

That must be why he has been a winner at every level of basketball he has ever played in

Because Melo does privately want to come to the Rockets, but Melo's privates are taking him to the Knicks.

You can count the Knicks off unless Melo signs with them next offseason.

He wants Knicks. Denver front office is gonna pull a Cleveland and Toronto and get suckered into another freeagent decision. They are so terrified of two extra games. The longer they waite? The longer they complete the cycle the new Super team created for players. Carmelo leaves them straight up for nothing after getting them to play his game. They could just say Rockets and deal done. No reason not to sign with us and no reason to hold up the deal. The only one being a mental fear of playing him twice more than the East teams. Silly thinking really when you come to the conclusion you may end up the next Toronto and Cleveland.

I think its going to be NY also and we will somehow be involved. Maybe all the waiting is just Houston, Denver and NY ironing out the details. ;)

    In comes Morey.

Nuggs and Nets call the Rockets to help facilitate a trade.

Morey says F^&K you Nets and trades for Melo himself.

Book it. That is how this is gonna play out.

Sorry for the double post. I forgot to say that this is how Morey rolls. It's TOO quiet around here. Something must be brewing.

It's possible because i don't see any team taking him on as a rental. He wants NY, somehow he will get NY. Maybe the hold up is Denver not wanting to deal with Curry's fat lazy ass.

It seems the Nuggets don't want to take on Kirenlinko's contract, and they and the Nets are looking for more trade scenarios/partners. In come the Rockets.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ys-anthonynuggets092710
Rockets get: Nene(can play C or PF)
Nets get: Anthony(All star), Hill(young PF prospect)
Nuggets get:Favors/Taylor(young prospects), Murphy/Jefferies/Ross(expirings), Nets 2011 1st rd pick, Rockets future 2nd rd pick
Nuggets do it because they get two young prospects, and the draft picks they are looking for. They also will have alot of expiring contracts at their exposure. On top of that they will save 3.9mil, which will equal 7.8mil in luxary tax.
Nets do it because they get the prize in Carmelo. They also get another young prospect in Hill, and that may soften the blow of losing Favors, but the verdict is still out on Hill. They get to keep Harris, which I felt would have been a big loss if he had to be traded. The team would be more enticing for Melo to agree to the extention.
Rockets do it because we get that big man that can play PF and C. Nene is a really good player that can help us against the Lakers (western conference finals), or Boston (nba finals). We get him without losing anyone that was going to get significant minutes in our rotation. We get to keep the NY picks which should be good picks since they won't get Melo. I think a frontline of Yao, Scola, Nene, Miller, Hayes & Patterson can compete with anybody. Nene will also soften the blow if Yao misses games due to injury (outside of the back to back he will sit out).
