This is the trade I'm hoping for, now that it appears the Sixers are keen on moving Iggy. 4-Way Trade: Rockets, Nuggets, Knicks, Sixers BENEFITS BY TEAM Denver: Spoiler Young Prospect(s): Danilo Gallinari, Jordan Hill & Toney Douglas Expiring: Ed Curry Pick: NY 2012 Trade Fodder: Ronny Turiaf + $3 Mil (Rockets) to help salaries match Spoiler The Nuggets get everything they are looking for. They are able to begin rebuilding around Gallinari & Hill while obtaining prospects through the draft, they shed both Carmelo Anthony’s & Nene Hilario’s salary, and Ed Curry’s expiring contract gives them the flexibility to sign future Free Agents. Sixers: Spoiler Young Prospect(s): Anthony Randolph Expiring: Shane Battier Pick: NY 2011 Swap Trade Fodder: $3 Mil (Rockets) to help salaries match Spoiler The Sixers add Anthony Randolph to an already stellar young cast, gain a potential draft upgrade and get Shane Battier who would be a great mentor for the young squad; All while shedding Iguodala’s contract. Knicks: Spoiler Carmelo Anthony Trade Fodder: Jared Jeffries Spoiler Knicks get Carmelo and Carmelo gets the Knicks. They also get Jared Jeffries whom they can start at PF to move Amare to the C position. And they still have enough young talent in Chandler/Felton/Azubuike/Walter to make a move for Chris Paul when he forces a trade to NY. HOUSTON: Spoiler Andre Iguodala Nene Hilario Spoiler Updated Line-Up: Yao/Nene/Miller Scola/Hayes/Patterson Iguodala/Budinger Martin/Lee Brooks/Lowry Permission to drool granted Spoiler IMO, this article posted in the GARM gives a great & fair assessment of the Rocket's current squad and their current needs: ESPN: NBA Forecast Nene & Iggy bring the speed, length & defense this team currently lacks. Nene is foul prone, but having him play reduced minutes will increase his efficiency through the roof. Iguodala would have a balanced team around him, increasing his efficiency on offense & defense. I'd take a front court of Yao/Nene/Miller/Scola/Hayes/Patterson over any other in the NBA. The mismatches are endless with that group of guys. Not to mention how insane that amount of depth is. We need a legitimate shot-blocking/rebounding VETERAN C. I can believe Daryl Morey did not offer Fesenko a contract due to his inexperience. He was in hot pursuit of Dampier because of his experience from years played in the league and in the playoffs. Nene is by far the greater talent, albeit at an expensive price. But Nene is THE PERFECT insurance in case Yao goes down because he could easily move into the starting role. Adding Iggy to our team helps us run & gun with the best of them, and also shores up our defensive limitations in our back court's starting line-up. Not to mention CBud/Lee is the perfect complement off the bench to Iggy/KMart. We lose picks, but we're still in a great position to make roster moves later on and we don't lose either Martin or Brooks all while upgrading our two weakest positions. Plus, we keep our TE, CBud, PPat & JT. Morey's FA list is an indication that the organization is serious about winning now. With that line-up, I think we could be 2nd seed in the West, going against the Lakers in a tantalizing WCF. Battier/Jeffries/Hill + downgraded NY picks + $6 Mil/Non-Guaranteed contracts -> Iggy+Nene What do you think? Thank you for reading.
I don't see why philly does this. They lose their star player and for what? Anthony randolph, an expiring Battier, a draft pick that seriously loses value if the knicks acquire melo, and fillers? not seeing it.
I like the format, not sure about the trade though.. IMO Nene has to big of a price tag for a backup center, it will greatly limit us next off-season.
I have to commend you on how you constructed your post. Very nice! I'm not sure how the Denver front office could keep from being lynched by the Denver fans, but aside from that, it's easy to like if you are a Rockets fan!
I tried a 4 way once and it was really freakin' complicated. 3 ways are a lot easier, believe me! (So I've heard, allegedly having no experience with the deed myself, of course. That I can recall.)
You even got the "Time to Salivate" and rephrased it. As my trade idea i posted yesterday, you've somewhat restructured. But basically the same.
Here's the deal i started a thread for yesterday and was locked, apparently. Nuggets-Sixers-Knicks-Rockets Trade
It seems the Nuggets don't want to take on Kirenlinko's contract, and they and the Nets are looking for more trade scenarios/partners. In come the Rockets. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ys-anthonynuggets092710 Rockets get: Nene(can play C or PF) Nets get: Anthony(All star), Hill(young PF prospect) Nuggets get:Favors/Taylor(young prospects), Murphy/Jefferies/Ross(expirings), Nets 2011 1st rd pick, Rockets future 2nd rd pick Nuggets do it because they get two young prospects, and the draft picks they are looking for. They also will have alot of expiring contracts at their exposure. On top of that they will save 3.9mil, which will equal 7.8mil in luxary tax. Nets do it because they get the prize in Carmelo. They also get another young prospect in Hill, and that may soften the blow of losing Favors, but the verdict is still out on Hill. They get to keep Harris, which I felt would have been a big loss if he had to be traded. The team would be more enticing for Melo to agree to the extention. Rockets do it because we get that big man that can play PF and C. Nene is a really good player that can help us against the Lakers (western conference finals), or Boston (nba finals). We get him without losing anyone that was going to get significant minutes in our rotation. We get to keep the NY picks which should be good picks since they won't get Melo. I think a frontline of Yao, Scola, Nene, Miller, Hayes & Patterson can compete with anybody. Nene will also soften the blow if Yao misses games due to injury (outside of the back to back he will sit out).<p>I also posted this in the Melo thread for those who have or haven't seen it.
Well there have been talks of the sixers trying to acquire Melo using Iggy. If the sixers fail, maybe we can snatch him from them.
Talking about Iggy, how about these 2 trades (confirmed via trade checker)? TRADE1 Houston get: Andre Iguodala Sixers get: Brooks, Jeffries, Chuck Hayes (money could be involved for Sixers releasing Chuck after the trade, if Houston FO considers him important) TRADE2 Houston get: Hinrich, McGee Wizards get: Battier, Jordan Hill There are draft picks (1st and second rounds) to ease the trades as needed. Think about the outcome after these trades: PG:Hinrich, Lowry, Teodosic (proposed by me, using LLE+chinese shoe contract for paying him) SG:Martin, Lee SF:Igoudala, Budinger PF:Scola, Patterson, Chuck (?) C:Yao, Miller, MacGee (2 veterans C for coaching him) PLEASE, THINK ABOUT IT...don't you think this team wouldn't be a contender (less D holes in backcourt)? Random trades is the name of the thread, however, this final roster isn't that impossible, isn't it?
I would love to get McGee, but I just don't see the Wiz flipping such a prospect at C (who should have played on the FIBA team) for battier and Hill. 7footers are a rare commodity.
Houston trades: Trevor Ariza trade exception ($6.3 million) 2012 Rockets first round pick Charlotte trades: Nazr Mohammed 2011 Bobcats second round pick 2012 Bobcats second round pick Why for Houston? Rockets get their 2nd center (along with Brad Miller) to backup Yao Ming. Nazr was an effecient big for the Bobcats last season. Its a gamble for Houston as they do give fairly large trade exception along with a first round pick for 33 year old center, but if this trade is a failure then Houston still get 2 second round picks from a bubble playoff team and Nazr could easily be flipped since he's expiring. Think of it this way: Morey can't combine the $6.3 million trade exception with another player in a trade but he can trade any combination Battier/Jeffries/Mohammed for as much as a whopping $21 million in expirings. That could definitely come handy at the deadline. Why for Charlotte? They lose a good role player but in return save roughly $7 million from the exception and compensate for their lost 2012 first round pick (traded to Chicago in last year's deadline).
I'd trade Battier and Hill for Hinrich alone! Dude is excellent from beyond the arc and is a great defender. Adding Hinrich and Iggy would make us the best defensive team in the league!
