Yea - not sure why Philly would trade the player the Rockets are getting for our expendable players.

Knicks get Carmelo and Jeffries. This gives them Carmelo a year earlier, Jeffries who the Knicks has expressed interest in acquiring back and of the pick the need to send to the Nuggets. Plus they get to keep their 2011 pick.

Nuggets get Curry, Gallinari, the Rockets 2011 #1 pick and the Knicks 2014 pick. This is the Nugget's "better than nothing" deal.

Rockets get Randolph and Azubuike. They would still retain 2 #1s in 2012. And this gets them close to or under the LT.

    IBTL. or thread move.

And no team will go to their bare bones just for a salary dump during the preseason. Just before trade window I understand, but now?

If the Knicks really want their picks back to send to Denver then they need to get us someone and take it up the... So I was thinking we can get really anything in return from Denver (as most of their assets will have to head to Denver for Melo). So if they really want to make a trade happen then...

Hou gets: Andre Iguodala, Wilson Chandler

Denver gets: Gallinari, Randolph, Jeffries, Azuibuike and 2 picks (via Houston's NY picks)

Knicks get: Carmelo and Elton Brand

Philly gets: Curry, Battier, Turiaf, Douglas

Why for Houston? flip Jeffries, Battier and two first rounders for Iggy and Chandler.

Why for Denver? Gallinari, Randolph, expirings and picks

Why for the Knicks? This is the one I have the hardest time justifying, because rather than take on Brand and throw a bunch of cheap assets away for Brand. I think New York would just wait to try and sign Melo. However if Melo is leaning towards signing off on a deal to the Nets or anyone other than the Knicks before the deadling, New York can go all in to get themselves another superstar.

Why for Philly? Salary dump! They want to get rid of Brand and Iggy's contract (Brand more than Iggy). The get a bunch of expirings in return.

    Nuggets-Knicks-Sixers-Rockets 4-way Trade Idea

Nuggets - Danilo Gallinari, Jordan Hill, Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries and future 1st round picks

    Knicks - Carmelo Anthony

Sixers - Anthony Randolph, Eddie Curry, and a future 1st round pick

    Rockets - Andre Igoudala

    4-Way Trade

    Why can it work?

Nuggets get young talents in Galo and J. Hill, cap relief in Battier and Jeffries plus future 1st round picks. And Melo would instantly sign an extension since he's being shipped to New York.

Sixers have Evan Turner and are rumored to dealing Iggy for Melo basically for a one year rental and cap relief after the season. This way they get a young stud in Anthony Randolph and cap relief in Eddie Curry PLUS a future 1st round pick

    Knicks get Melo. Enough said.

Rockets get Igoudala. A starting lineup of Brooks, Martin, Igoudala, Scola and Yao. Ok now you can salivate.

Hill, Battier, Jeffries and 1st round picks for Iguodala? I would rather keep what we have, AI is not worth all that.
