Yep and this is another case of Morey playing the market instead of making rash decisions like many other GMs do. If the Knicks truly have a chance to land Carmelo, why not help them and at the same time save yourself from relatively unimpressive picks?

Bottom line: do you think morey is cooking up something? or does the delay have nothing to do with us?

Well, the player decisions are supposedly made by the owner's son and the new GM is just a figure head. Ego and inexperience is a bad combination.

Randolph is a future superstar. Play him at the 3 or off the bench spliting minutes between SF and PF. If we come away with Randolph, WOW.

Randolph is not a center, guys. He doesn't have anywhere close to enough strength to play the position. He is a combo SF/PF.

Yep. I think Morey leak this to delay Melo's approval of NJ's trade. Thus, he can use the time to contact with other teams in order to make a multiple-team trade to land Melo.

It would make a hell of a lot of sense for Daryl Morey to be in the middle of all this.

All indications are that Melo really wants to be a Knick. ("Hello and welcome to last month," says everyone.) Fine.

Wouldn't hurt to get our hands on Anthony Randolph or involve some other team whose player we really want (some side trade we never saw coming) using our surplus of players (especially power forwards, let's be honest).

Wouldn't hurt to get Melo out of the Conference. Might lead to Chris Paul taking off sometime next year. Two fewer teams to worry about in April.

Umm what exactly is wrong with that? Plenty of players give a stare down after dunking on somebody. Hell, I've seen Yao do it on a numerous occasions. Doesn't mean he has a bad attitude. It doesn't hurt to have a player that can talk smack and back it up.

Randolph said he's gained 15 lbs since last season. Nice kid too, when asked his opinion on Don Nelson when he retired rather than say "no comment" or bad mouthing him, he took the high road and said it was a great honor to play for him.

Could it be possible three-way trade with Randolph and Gallinari in Houston?

If NY is trading Randolph for a pick so they can get Carmelo, then by all means we should be involved if possible. That 2012 pick will be 20s if that goes down and you won't find a guy like Randolph at that spot. This would be a Morey move to trade lesser value items for more value items. Come trade deadline, he will have all kinds of options with TEs, expirings, picks, young guys, etc... Rockets in Feb will be your 1 stop shopping.

They did sign Shelden Williams and Anthony Carter in the off season. That's 2 r****ded off-season decisions. They are on a roll.

    Young and pretty talented.
I'd certainly be up for getting Randolph.
But, I agree with whoever said that he isn't really a center.
I think he would get pushed around, quite easily.
But I mean, he does play PF. And while we have a bunch of players at that position, Scola is the only one that has shown to be legit....so far.

wait, why would the nuggets not want randolph and just want a first rounder instead?

i think it will cost us both picks to get randolph

Randolph is NOT a SF.. he should play strictly at the four spot unless he can bulk up to handle some minutes at the five. Think Josh Smith..

Because Randolph is in his contract year. He will go after a big contract next summer. The nuggets are in rebuild mode. They don't need him this year. Do the rockets need him just for one season?
