The Red Rally had a bunch of performances from RPD and other little entertainment. They also used to have the Red Rowdy tryouts directly afterwards, but they won't this year. Doors used to open at 12. We'd wait around for an hour, Rockets would then come warm up for a half hour, then they'd scrimmage for an hour and have the rookie dance off. Then we'd wait for 30 minutes, then Rowdy tryouts would begin and last for an hour. People trying out for the Red Rowdies were typically standing and yelling for 4 hours. I'm glad we're changing tryouts to a different day. They are calling it an open practice not Red Rally and they specifically said no cheerleaders, no frills. I'm hoping it's a more serious type of practice. Maybe some drills and a serious scrimage so we can really see what our team is like. In the past it was like an All-Star game or And 1. No defense, just taking turns dunking.
Is there going to be a clutchfans section? I'm going to this thing and it would be cool to meet some of you folks.
One more thought: you might want to contact Toyota Center to see if there's a bit more leniency toward cameras at this kind of event compared to an actual game. Maybe the policy won't be quite so strict for an open practice event.
if the practice and the Texans-Cowboys game are at the same way, is there any way they could show the game on the big screen? That would be awesome
hey varuscelli, those are some OUTSTANDING pics! im gonna ask on behalf of all the fans outside of houston who almost NEVER get a chance to see the rox live that you document all your trips to the TC! photoblog maybe? this board could ALWAYS use more power dancer pics! if you cant or choose not 2 no biggie- i undrstand, especially if its what u do for a living, just thought i'd ask nicely many thanks from a rox fan in arizona, if i could, i'd rep u 4 those pics alone!
Kind remarks, ezzie -- thank you. Unfortunately, I don't make many Rockets games in person, and that game from the end of last season was my first one in a long time. I'd love to take (and post) more photos like that, and likely will if I get the chance again any time soon.
If you see this, I'm curious as to whether you went and if you took photos...and if so, how you did with getting a camera in. Any feedback?
