I'm going to have to agree this poll is pretty stupid and almost a troll-like attempt at being an attention w****. Like someone said we all already know your stance on the Melo situation. You already know what 95% of this board will respond with.. why even bother discussing such a biased topic.
Wait, is Durant even available? Yeah, that's what I thought. Why is this even a topic for discussion?
Durant by a mile but I still want Melo on the Rockets because no one has a chance at Durant right now.
why do a poll on something so obvious? it's stupid really. 100% out of 100% will choose durant if they have any basketball knowledge. but melo is still a GREAT player, and any team would benefit from getting him, esp. a team that has a great offensive coach like adelman.
Surely it's not hard to 'think' about why Durant is better? It's really quite obvious... Having said that, Melo is a pretty good player.
can't believe 5 people actually want Melo over Durant. The difference between Durant and Melo is the difference between Kobe Bryant and Matt Barnes. He's a real superstar, while Melo is just a wannabe gangster punk.
This is like saying who would you rather build a team around, Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant? 90% will probably say Michael Jordan, but that doesn't mean you don't want to build a team around Kobe.
You can only go all in for a top 4 player basically. Everyone else is acquirable just by expiring contracts and future 2nd round pick-worthy.
Terrible thread. If you want to compare Carmelo Anthony to somebody, compare him to other players we actually have a shot at getting. How about I start a thread asking if people would rather have Durant or Lebron James, and then when most people say Lebron, I can be like, "see, now HE'S a guy you go all in for."
When you look at the stats, Durant and Melo are a good comparison. On paper, they look almost identical, with Durant simply getting to the line and converting more. So this thread isn't THAT stupid. I think it is plain obvious though that once you take your eyes off the stats, Durant is far more superior due to his attitude, age and leadership abilities.
And you honestly think that everyone here needs to ponder that? Did we have to ponder whether Olajuwon was better than Robinson? No, but few here would argue that David Robinson was a damn good player, even a great player. Hakeem was simply better, and that's really simplifying things.
What's the point of this thread? Anybody that doesn't say Durant is an idiot. However, as everybody points out, only one of the two is an option for teams not named the Thunder.
Why don't we try to just steal Durant later? I know he signed an extension. But the guy is bound to be unhappy at some point just like every star in the NBA. Hold off on Melo.
