those are just overall base ratings. really they're there for show. you have to look the individual ratings which they don't show. like for example Dirk and Yao being 83 like the guy above mentioned. speed, quickness, ballhandling, defensive awareness, etc go into the overall rating. Yao and Dirk aren't the fastest guys and Dirk definitely is't one of the best defenders. if you look at some of the individual ratings like on 2k10, it'll probably make a little more sense.
What I love about this game is that you can make Brooks' or Martin's 80 overall ranking just as unstoppable Melo or Durant's 90+ rating. Their rankings don't have to be super high for them to be lethal scorers on the game. And I can guarantee that after about one month, Martin's rating will be at least an 84. Can't Wait
Iguodala a 85? Dirk 83? Dirks consistently put 25 and 9 for like 8 years.. thats wack. AI puts up like 18 5 and 5. Oh well
You all need to quit comparing across positions. Size is important in the NBA, but does not factor into a player's "overall". Thus, bigs in general tend to be rated lower across the board, and guards are rated higher because they have more basketball "skill".
Rockets has one best. Battier has the highest score of #5. So Rockets is most balanced or deepest team in NBA.
you really think he deserves to be rated as high as Rose? i think 80-81 was a good rating for him. You realize that 80 rating is probably all offense as well, He's 5'11....his defense ratings are way down probably.
yeah he is mainly all offense just like Kevin Martin. Martin's overall isn't the highest but his offensive ratings e.g. offensive awareness is one of the highest at 94. Martin, Brooks and Yao are all beast.
