If he is not coming and the Nugs are going to deal with the Knicks anyway, see if we can get some value today.....

it sounds good but i would rather trade both our NY picks and maybe a few assets or cap relief to move up in the draft next off season top 3 if possible or better

That will seal the rockets' fate -- a mediocre team!

Saying you were looking at trading to NY even if they had no assets you actually wanted would be a good way to pry both picks out of Houston.

It obviously wouldn't be in Denver's best interests to start playing the teams against each other to drive the price up.

Maybe or it could be a championship team.

The exact thing could be said if we get Melo too...no one knows.....

Adding Chandler and Randolph won't make the rockets a contender or an interesting team. The team needs a superstar. Even the rockets couldn't get Melo this time, they still need to keep picks to wait for another chance. Maybe CP3 will be available in the middle of the season. Or, maybe they can move up during next draft...

Report: Houston Rockets enter Melo mix
    September 22, 2010 10:41 AM | No Comments
The Denver Post reports: As the Denver Nuggets' front office works the phones, new destinations for Carmelo Anthony keep popping up. Should the Nuggets trade their all-star forward, the Houston Rockets would be in the mix, an NBA source with knowledge of what is being discussed told the Denver Post.

Various reports have mentioned the Bulls as a destination for Anthony, but the team's unwillingness to include Joakim Noah in a trade might be a deal-breaker.

    FWIW.

Not really. They'll have to move him by at least deadline time.

According to HOOPSHYPE they are holding off on the Joakim Noah signing for reasons unknown. Could Chicago have changed their minds about not including Noah?

Noah's not going to sign until the Melodrama ends.

I'll add to this, he's not going to sign while he believes he can be traded to Denver, that way if he's traded prior to his extension, he can wait and get a qualifying offer way above what he was willing to accept from Chicago.

Yep its nothing to do with Bulls or Nuggets. His agent told him to wait. If he gets traded he is more valuable in his extension demands if he goes to the Nuggets so his agent can ask for more from the Nuggets should he get traded. Probably nothing. Two worst teams trade value wise geta first crack at Carmelo because he wants them the most. Its really down to if Bulls want to include Noah and if Denver feels the two worst offers Bulls have the most being acceptable just to keep Anthony out of the Western Conference or happy instead of looking out for their own team. Thats what it all boils down to or this would only be New Jersey and Rockets being considered. They either want to please Carmelo Anthony more or their team and fanbase more. Thats the part we dont know.

Let's say the Bulls offered Noah for Brooks.

    Would you do it?

Nope. Brooks has the ability to win games for us against big teams in pressure situations. Noah has no such ability. He is a poor mans Yao Ming before Yao became a allstar and without the shooting ability. Of course he has a higher motor but his ceiling is Tyson Chandler like.
