When you make a deal with Morey, you are doomed to second guess yourself every day.

For the rest of your life.

and this is a blessing a huge problem for us. GMs are skerred to do deals with him, so they suggest preposterous trades or just avoid any dealings with him at all.

Maybe but I think this is overstated to often. Morey is one of the better GMs but there hasn't been a deal that has been sooooooooo onesided, with the exception of Scola, that other GMs should be scared. I will say, Morey basically grabbed Walsh by his manhood and SQUEEZED and thus the Knicks had NO choice but to make the deal or risk losing out on even Amar'e. I think Morey's best attribute is placing himself at the right spot, at the right time and taking advantage of a situation perfectly.

If it takes Martin to get Melo, then you do it! Slide Lee into the starting lineup and Chase/Taylor/Lowry can back up the 2 position.

I can think of only two other GMs (at the top of their game) that was applicable to:
    Red Auerbach
    Jerry West

I don't know if Morey is quite there yet, but he certainly heisted the Spurs and Knicks in a big way. The Rafer/Lowry trade was also a big win (Orlando got good production from Alston until he had a fit about Nelson getting his starting job back; Memphis ended up with Adoynal Foyle, Mike Wilks, and a pick that became DeMarre Carroll).

Someone send this trade to Morey. Great explanation on all teams involved, even though I feel Portland would be a team to have to deal with later on with that line up. THIS TRADE WORKS ON TRADE MACHINE ALSO

I really think Carmelo never considered the Rox.
I that was true at some point, the deal would have been already made, because the rox has a very nice variety of assets to combine for such a trade, and is celarly the trade partener Denver would seek if they were trying to get the most out of Melo.
I think Melo only wants to go to NY, but NY has no assets. Whatever trade is done with NY will be loopsided, will make look the gasol trade a good one, and of course the league wont do a damn thing about it.
The only way to get Melo here is by getting an all star PG first, that´s what Melo will look for. So let´s forget about this unless we land Paul in the next few months.

Yea I know, but I also think our line up in the end is still better. Had to give up a first round pick to help influence Portland to bite on this deal. Chuncy and Nate around each other during World Games hopefully pushes for the trade

    Battier
    Jeffries
    Brooks
    Chase
    2 first round picks

Is probably better than what any team has gotten for their disgruntled star in years.

    Which leaves us

    Yao
    Luis
    Carmelo
    Kyle
    Martin

    Miller
    Lee
    Patterson
    Jordan Hill
    Jermaine Taylor
    Chuck Hayes

I actually liked that trade as well and meant to say so yesterday. Unlikely to happen though. What is it, a 13 player trade?

to me....thats not ALL spare parts....I consider AB as much of an asset as Martin...so im in agreement with you that this is a good package

i just dont think (unless theres a 3rd team involved) that Denver would want AB bc they already have Lawson behind Billups

On a side note ESPN just did a short 20 second break announcing the Rockets are looking to acquire Carmelo Anthony.

Brooks can play the 2 guard position but I get what your saying.

They could always trade Billups if they want to completely rebuild for a nice young prospect.

    A Lawson/Brooks combo has a bright future.

true.....and if it is a 3 team deal, it wouldnt shock me to see Billups go to the 3rd team
