RJ Berger is actually a good show but they should have at least made the cast who are a reasonable age to play High School students.

I mean the fat dude is 30 and the hot girl, Kelly Swanson, is like 29.

I must say I am quite appalled by the attitudes being displayed in this thread toward such unwholesome, mediocre, vacuous trash. Trash that is being force-fed down the throats of our children and rotting their intellects to the point we have raised a generation so self-absorbed and self-loathing that they are a diseased collective of over-sexed, over-medicated, narcissistic drama-queen washouts with nothing to offer society outside of their radical political statements and tempered angst left un-uttered so as only to be engulfed in the wood stalks of some pretentious coffee shop that serves soy milk only on Vegan Tuesdays.

Watch these 3 shows before you say that it is quite that the opposite from that being the reason they are decent shows...

I just now got paid TV programming again, after 6 years. Last I left off MTV was doing the Laguna Beach thing and Pimping Rides. Not much has changed since then. Same lack of focus on music. Good scripted shows* still have a place, though.

(*yes I realize reality shows can be scripted)

Had a discussion on that in another forum. I said Youtube and Myspace both met the demands of people while Viacom and similar corporations was trying to FIGHT OFF the innovation. MTV did finally launch its own archive video site but years too late. It gets only a tiny portion of traffic that youtube does.

Imagine if MTV first came out with the Youtube/Myspace format FIRST, it'd be killer. (Moreso the Myspace format cuz MTV wouldnt allow people to upload copyrighted content.)

The issue is, as selfish as big corporations can be, they play within certain legal guidelines. While anyone on the internet can leech freely and aggregate content as their own. Youtube blows away MTV, but really it didnt do it too cleanly within the same rules MTV abided by. Cuz they didnt have any rules. Or they even (legally) BROKE some rules.

Ya know, I'd rather much that people complain with well formed opinions and be called "whiners" than have no opinion at all. Typical "clutchfans"? Try typical WORLD that feels its an issue.

It was all downhill after MTV started showing commercials.
