NY Times: Rockets preparing to offer Martin and Knicks draft picks for Carmelo

I wonder what his list of people that are worth the max are.

 

Sam Amick of AOL says his sources are saying Kevin Martin isn't involved.

Gotta be Aaron Brooks among other things.

 

No, he's not. He's a little worse than that, probably in the top 15 range. And Martin is probably in the top 25. The gap is not huge. The difference in salary, however, would be. Then draft picks on top of that? That's a dealbreaker.

ya but doesnt look like they will or that melo said he wont go there if they deal favours...i mean really why would he to play with him harris and brook lopez? they would deal murphy and favours...hed be on a worse team than nuggets...be just good enough to never get good draft picks and just bad enough for a first round exit in playoffs...

No chance favours for melo happens formultiple reasons.

 

Just crossing my fingers that neither Brooks nor Martin is involved.

 

The best thing would be if Morey somehow got it done with a package of Jeffries, Hill, and both NYK picks. Salaries probably don't match though. Don't know how it works with the trade exception involved.

Matt Jackson reports the opposite, and I trust Matt more than Amick. Amick is a good reporter, but he's VERY tight with Martin from his Kings days. My guess is that Amick's Houston sources are primarily from the Martin camp, who I'm sure is on the outside of the loop.

Keep in mind Sam covered the Kings for awhile, and is close to Kevin Martin. Got one of the first interviews with him after he got traded

 

Why does everyone want to keep martin over brooks?... it's been a long time since we had a good pg lowry's nice but he's just a energy/hustle player nothing more than a role player.

Brooks is emerging as an all-star, and has shown he is clutch down the stretch, most importantly he's the player that the lakers can't match-up with, I would hate to see martin match-up up against kobe and artest for a playoff series.

 

So what the latest involving us? Do we have a chance? or is this all bullsh!t? either way, this is turning out to more painful then watching lebrons special.

 

Yeah, that is why I would rather us part with Martin than Brooks. I am more comfortable with Lee starting than Lowry.

Also, by trading Martin, less pieces will go to Denver because of less salary being needed to match.

 

Hope it's Brooks not Martin.

Nuggets may not need a PG, but, Brooks is a better prospect than Martin.

The Nugs want to rebuild.

I don't know how paying Martin for another 3 years helps their cause

 

I listen to Matt J, dig his show but, he also gave us the "watch out for Joel Pryzbilla" comment too. I'm not sure Matt J has knowledge of what's going on. This is not to knock Matt, I just think the Rockets keep things in house until a deal is about done
