Morey doesn't want Melo, Matt Schaub sucks, Vince Young is God, Colt McCoy is a great pro QB, the Rockets are a championship team this year, this year is a wasted year for the Rockets its all about next year...

Phew! I can go hibernate for another 12 months!

This would be a fantastic trade if it was just Martin and picks. We wouldn't have to give up our huge expiring contracts in Battier and Jefferies. Morey is always thinking ahead!!

Should the Rockets try to trade Martin for Melo?
Yes. 6 times a week and 3 times on sunday. You. Just. Have. To.

    Will Denver accept?
    My bet is no.

Melo can play defense, when he WANTS to...

That's been his one major knock, and was noted a few times in the media during his career, taking plays off, and not being a team player all the time. That said, when he wants to, Melo can play some good D...He played Kobe pretty damn good IMO.

the limited minutes of Yao announcement is really about driving down his contract price at the conclusion of this season.

    Ahhhhhhhhh! I forgot one! LOL

To his credit though, DD rolls with the punches like nobody else.

He has played D pretty consistently over the past 2 seasons. That was a knock on him before, but he does play defense most of the time now.

Agreed, and i think part of his immaturity and desire to play at all times comes from his unhappiness in Denver. He should play hard night in and night out regardless, but he has gotten better over the last couple of years as you pointed out.

if you had the option of Martin from the Rockets or letting Melo walk for nothing? My bet is they take what they can get.

Exactly! Remember this story came out in the New York Times, and we all know that the Times never, ever lets facts get in the way of a good story.

and since when did kevin martin become a big time or "good" story? true or not, but those may be rumors floating around. trade rumors rarely come to fruition anyways.

I don't think Morey guaranteed he wouldn't trade Martin, only that he wasn't actively looking to do so, which is not the same thing.

We aren't centering a package around Brooks cause we're saving him to trade for CP3 next year!

This theory would be sound , except that the Rockets are not the only team Denver is dealing with here. They can take any deal from any team...let's not just run off from reality and make it seem like this is their only deal.

And if I was the Denver GM? And I could verify for a fact on what NJ is offering with the Favors package...I take that deal over the Rockets deal every time. It's just a better deal.

so would I but it sound like Melo doesn't want to sign with them so NJ doesn't seem to have an incentive.

Kevin Martin aka Mr. Glass is not the kind of player you can count on to make it through an 82 game season + playoffs.

I gotcha, but we must remember this is all media related info, doesn't mean anything. For all we know Melo and his wife could love Houston, or they could hate it.

But really it doesn't matter what Melo likes at this point, what matters is what does Denver's GM want. Maybe their GM likes the Houston deal better, could be...but i wouldn't trust a single word of the media until an actual deal starts going down.
