Amongst all of our choices for the SF position that we have in our heads (Iggy, Melo, Granger) there's one that is ignored completely.

    Gerald Wallace of the Bobcats!

I think he would really help our team. He's a real big powerhouse defensively. (Much more than at least Melo.) Last season, and maybe even this one, defensive rebounding was a really big issue. I remember sometime last season he was leading the league in rebounding for a while. Either that or he had around 10 Rebounds. That be really helpful for us.

Also, Charlotte is in a really big financial meltdown due to the excess contracts they've offered. We have a lot to offer to them. I'm not quite sure what, but there is a good possibility we can get'r done. :)

Well.. This is something to get the spotlight off of the Melo speculation. So a positive right there.

Brad Miller commented he just never understood Rick Adelman's system.

very good player but he's missed 10+ games every season 8/9 (except last season). and his nickname is "crash"!!!

with a team being focused on yao and kevin martin being a main part, we need some durable players who won't miss a lot of games!

Gerald Wallace just does not interest me at all. And I disagree -- his name is brought up a lot.

Ya I remember that said he just didn't fit the system. Now look at him, good player with the kings just bad fitting in the system they ran.

I would definitely welcome Gerald Wallace over Iggy or Granger, because he fits the bill better as a player that can cover up the defensive weaknesses of Brooks and Martin.

The question is, what do we have to give up for him? Wallace is actually the Cats' best player/ #1 option. (shows you how bad their team is haha).

So what do we give up? Luckily, Jordan is a weak GM/owner. Is Battier, Jeffried and Hill enough to rip off Jordan? Maybe, expirings and a Young asset is good BUT... the Charlotte fans would call for Jordan's head if that deal went down.

One thing I know is getting Wallace makes Battier extremely expendible.

To follow up on the last comment. Wallace would make Battier more expendable THAN MELO would. So I actually like this option better than melo, even if melo is a superstar.

he hasnt been ignored...it's been brought up this offseason and i believe prior to the Tmac trade as well....back then it made sense, now he's not what we need. He's not worth what we'll be giving up. the only thing we really lack is a mobile scorer in the frontcourt (3,4,5 spots) and he's not it.

I forgot to add...i was speaking about offense...defensively, he'd make sense in the long run being younger and better than battier, but i dont think it makes sense for defensive purposes...we may turn out to be a solid defensive team now that we have some size and yao back.

I don't think so. We have enough scoring in this team. It's good to have everyone be able to score, but not at the expense of a lack of defense. Our spacing due to our three point threat is good. Another shooter would be awesome, but Wallace's play style would fit well here. Basically Ariza with a brain.
