Absolutely, Kubiak almost deserves to be fired on the spot despite the win

IMO, yes!!!! And if not, probably go for the 4th and 4 at the 35 yard line or wherever it was. At least see if you could get them to push offsides!

He redeemed his decisions with better ones later, but that should still be counted against him(not kicking it after the first drive). Maybe not fired though. Just a stern talking to and a "don't ever let it happen again!"

Right, first play should have been FG. Second play was going for it, last play was punt.

Whatever. I'm over it. We won, and Kubes made up for it by icing their kicker expertly.

    Nope.

We don't know what condition Rackers was in. Obviously, Kubiak had very little confidence in him making that kick, for whatever reason.

If he misses the 52 yarder, we most likely lose the game. Kubes trusted the defense, and they held up just enough.

of course you kick it. it was a bad call, we got lucky and pulled it out, so the whole argument's pretty much rendered meaningless now. hindsight is 20/20. it was a bad call.

No way, . . .at first I was "kick it", but thinking thru the distance, the way the rules are now compared to last year, it was the smarter decision. ...and Kubes made a great call icing the kicker. Awesome decision making I have to say. Obviously we won!

I still stand by going for the kick.

If you trust your D, what's the difference between the 20 and the 50? Yeah, I know, 30 yards and close to field goal range.

But if you trust your D enough, you don't give washington a chance to kick one.

He should have let Rackers try it. You don't get too many second chances in games. We were lucky to get a second chance to win.

Why are people giving credit to Kubiak for icing the kicker? Doesn't everyone do that now.

That FG doesn't win the game though. Remember the new OT rules? Washington would get the ball back and could either kick a FG to tie it, or score a TD to win it. I'm glad Kubiak didn't let Rackers kick the ball. Turned out great for the Texans in the end.

i didn't trust our defense to hold. they got lucky on two plays...an overthrow by Mcnabb when our CBs were burned and the FG miss.

So...if Kubiak knew before the game that Rackers had a max range of 49 yards in that direction, you would still kick a 52 yard field goal? That would be the idiotic move.

It wasn't a 60 yarder or anything crazy. It was a common 52 yard field goal. If we don't trust our kicker to kick anything more than 50 yards, this team is gonna have a difficult time if they make the playoffs.
