Are the Texans a legit Super Bowl Contender this season?

Anything less than a Superbowl win is going to be a massive letdown. A 3-peat dynasty would be in line with expectations. 5 in a row would be superb!

 

With Dennison calling the shots ........We have a chance.

I'd like to see some depth at RB and at least one quality addition in the secondary too.

Sure they are, it's a single elimination tournament, anything can happen. I wouldn't call the one of the favorites, but it has been proven time and time again, that teams can go from mediocre, or downright bad, and make deep playoff runs the next year. Some even win it all.

I got the Texans at 25 to 1 to start the season so I sure hope so!

 

This post pretty much says it all.

 

so by the definition here, like 14 teams in the NFL are contenders for the super bowl.
and there is a difference between "contender" and "legit contender" (like says in the thread title) contender means you have a chance, and legit contender seems you have a real chance of making it.

This was a great win, but have to be consistent, if the texans lose next sunday (I think they will win easily) then this win against the colts its not worth much, because the record would be 1-1, and media would say that texans are not ready.

A lot of people were disapointed how they played in preseason against the Saints and for that preseason game, people were thinking was going to be a bad season, but then it was the cowboys game, and last sunday, and everybody has real hopes.

But I hope the texans prove in the midseason that they are really contenders.
If the texans win the division, then they are clearly favorites for going to the superbowl.

 

and dont forget the "really legit super good contender"...that'a another division


If a 9-7 team the prior year who is turning key players and maturing in other position, plus the fact they dominated a "legit superbowl contender" isnt enough of a contender...then i don't know what is.

Let's just hope they dont revert to the texans of old and play down to their competition.

The fact that you only have to win 3 or 4 games makes it so anyone who gets in has a chance. I mean did anyone have the patriots (1st time), giants, Cardinal or Rams in the superbowl
