After their online college courses has been labeled a diploma mill... why are the Rockets even partners with this fraud of a college?

    awesome thread.
I always think the same thing especially when that stupid Phoenix mascot is at random Rockets events.
I guess they keep them, the same reason the Cardinals haven't changed the name of the University of Phoenix Stadium- $$$$$$$

If I were an employer, I'd hire a high school grad over a University of Phoenix grad. I wouldn't want an employee who gets duped like that. No offense.

I think the OP has it wrong.

All colleges and universities are "diploma-mills." These places aren't in the business of education, they're in the business of selling the college lifestyle, all the while providing job training. Job training is a lot different from the notion of a liberal education.

Why complain, anyway? If people are willing to spend their money on what colleges and universities are selling, what is the problem? It isn't like anybody is being maimed, killed, or coerced.

Do some homework on that website (RipoffReport.com). If anyone reports your business as a ripoff and they start a page on it, there are only two ways of getting it changed, neither of which have to do with presenting valid evidence to the contrary:

    1) Take them to court and win.

    2) Give them $50,000 upfront and a $1500/month "monitoring fee" to keep future reports off the site and they'll magically change your report to reflect the fact that yours is a fine, upstanding business. And that's despite them still not doing any research to see if the "scam" claims are valid.

I'm not taking up for Univ. of Phoenix; just saying that RipoffReport.com is about as scammy a "consumer advocate" site as you're likely to ever find.

Seems like the state of Arizona has worked out for us.. Morey secretly uses the "University of Pheonix" as a cliche.

University of Phoenix is more of a corporation that has built an online business based on education.

It is nothing like a regular college and university. Watch the documentary on PBS.

You don't see other universities like U of H or A&M etc sponsoring professional teams like the Rockets right?

that's because they are universities that regulated by state and local government.

If you went to the University of Phoenix, all you've done is proven you're an idiot.
