These are my observations of Martin's game last year:

    1) He was not in Houston-game-shape. You would often see him looking winded, which obviously hampers his effort on the court. This was partly because of him coming back from injury and partly because he was not used to the uptempo offense.

    2) He was not as familiar with the offensive and defensive schemes.

    3) His shot was off. Martin was still scoring 20+ points but you could tell that he didn't have total confidence in his shooting.

It seems like in '10-11, these issues will no longer be problematic.

Yes KM differs from Mcgrady in that he has not as much to prove. He was already an efficient 20+ scorer last year. Mcgrady's PR was just so he can be re-signed after his contract expires.

I expect great things from him this year, he's never had this kind of players on his team before and I do think he is under rated because of this.

When your a good player on a scrubbish team but still have high efficiency, I think that speaks louder than being a good player on a good team because your getting open shots while your other good team mates are being gaurded.

Like some poeple stated before. the difference between these statements and tmac's is that we were wondering if tmac could even run or jump anymore... in KM's case were just wondering if he can improve his already great scoring abilities and move his status in the nba to an allstar... at least we know he's working in the off season

Kevin Martin - PR talk is nice, but we all know it has to be made good on the court.

As far as his shooting efficiency, he's demonstrated that he can put up better than 1.5 points per shot, and that was on a crap team in Sacramento. He very nearly got it up to 1.6 points per shot one season, and for comparison Durant and LeBron were a shade under 1.5 pps last year.

    The PPS scale:
1.1 or less is pathetic - you're a bad decision making chucker with that rate.
    1.3 is pretty average.
    1.5 is extremely good.

Martin was 1.365 PPS last year, the worst since his rookie year. That's impressive. If he is back to his old form, approaches his prime, and benefits from being on the most talented squad he's been on in the NBA, getting back to 1.5 or even 1.6 isn't that crazy to think about. That would translate to 23 ppg on 15 shots. Off 12 shots, I wouldn't expect more than 19 ppg.

Confused face is right - what the hell are you talking about?

And "tmac didn't do it"? Are you high, or did you forget about McGrady blowing off his summer rehab and bringing about the demise of his own career? That May, both he and Battier were examined for nagging issues (knee for Tracy, ankle for Battier) and both given similar diagnosis and options. McGrady choose surgery and Battier choose heavy rehab*. One of these two let their health issues become a massive problem for the team, one of them worked their way back into playing form.

    * In fact, Battier ended up having a setback because he OVER worked the ankle trying to push himself as hard as he could.

Of all the folks on the roster, Battier is one of the guys you don't need to question.

    Tmac was brokeback knee.

Kevin has never had any major reoccurring injuries they tend to be small.

It's scary to think one of our guys could go down, we are so used to it here, like NY is to loosing hehe.

After the first week of the NFL you saw 3 top players from around the league go down. No I'm not trying to compare football to basketball. Just scary to see how easily someone can get injured.

Kneed averages 25-27 points this season.

LOL at Clyde at the end of the clip. After Martin makes the shot in the replay, "That's what I call 'making the shot'" and partially getting cut off.

Between Kevin Martin's "attack" mode and Scola's "Beast" mode, how can teams expect to stop the Rockets?! :p
