Heard it last week, its horrible, they tried too much to be different from what they were and didn't work out for me.. "Wretches and Kings" is the best song on there Fort Minor needs another new CD Fwiw, I loved the first 3 albums and like M2M more than others did The new Weezer CD recovered me from this debacle
Just listened to it for the second time. Has to be the WORST $10 I've spent this year. Awful album. Hybrid Theory and Meteora was LP. I don't know what kind of band they are trying to be now.
I heard them talking about this album on the Buzz the last few mornings and kept asking myself "who the **** cares about Linkin Park?" Seriously, these guys sold any cred they had left when they starting singing Transformers soundtracks for Michael Bay.
I listened to meteora on my drive home to and from work for like half a year, such an awesome CD. I can't stain my memories of the good stuff listening to this garbage.
I only heard The Catalyst but it wasn't my cup of tea. Personally preferred their style back in hybrid theory.
LOL. I entered the thread SPECIFICALLY to say Linkin Park is 16 year old angst music. Nothing wrong with that by itself. Can make a great living with music for 20-and-unders. I just think any group over teenagers liking them is their music overreaching. They DID achieve that, and sustained it for a while. Their song for Transformers wasn't that bad, I don't think. But they weren't much edgier than Stan Bush from the 80's cartoon movie soundtrack, which shows how "safe" they're playing it. They coulda injected more power into it
I don't know what 16 y/o angst music is, I listened to them for the catchy tunes not their lyrics (something this new album fails at pretty miserably). I thought Minutes to Midnight had a few good catchy songs and was at least worth a buy, this stuff is just... unspeakably boring and not worth a buy. Linkin Park was never an edgy band, but whoever wrote the original scores for their first 2 albums knew how to make eargasms. If they want to change that's fine with me, but I won't buy it.
Definitely disappointed. Might be in the minority that liked M2M as much as their first two albums. But this one just seems boring and...disjointed.
