It's on everyone. If it's on Yao then we are screwed. It's on EVERYONE

I think this is Morey's strategy.

Sign good 3rd string players for short stints when we need them during the regular season. They don't want to sign long deals for cheap, and if you keep them around too long they will demand a raise.

Winning mode: Try to find someone to fill the 15th spot and basically offer him a cheap non-guaranteed contract hoping you get lucky (like Von Wafer).

Guys, that "analysis" of the Rockets was a complete joke. I won't waste my time dissecting that drivel, but I will say this: If Battier has an "excellent season" this year he'll have to play a lot better than he has the last two.

And what any sportswriter should acknowlege is all our players from last year are going to have to play differently this year.

The Rockets are stacked! They are solid in every position. The starting 5 ccompete an with anyone. They have a great scoring back court with a great defensive 3 to even things out. Then add two great low post player in the mix.

The bench is no slack either. Lowry will pick up where Aaron left off if not more. Lowry will bring intensity, toughness and he will change the pace of game. Courtney Lee and Chase will bring the opposite. While Martin is a scorer, Lee will bring his defensive ability to the court while Chase will replace Battier's defense with offense, plus Chase will be a much better distributor this up coming season. Hill, Hayes and Patterson will compete for that 4 and 5 spot but they all have different specialties which will help this team a whole lot. Last of all, the newly acquire Brad Miller. A great backup Center Houston finally got their hands on since Deke. Expect him to fill in a huge void.

    Go ROCKETS!!!

I guess I'm the only who thinks our season doesn't depend on Yao anymore. Sure we won't win a ring if Yao ends up injured again, however now that Brad Miller is on board I think we can still be competitive. Scola+Brad Miller is a pretty good front court.

I think losing to the WCF is a reasonable expectation to this team if everyone is healthy. However not making the finals would be a terrible shame considering our three top players will be in their absolute prime when we face them. If everyone is healthy and we don't win it this year chances are we'll never win one in the Yao Ming era.

    50 wins sounds about right.

The rockets have proved that they could exceed expectations without a superstar. Its definitely on everyone, not just Yao.

With or without Yao, they should still play with intensity and heart.
And that's exactly why I love the Houston Rockets.
